Probably due to its popularity with NZ travelers, the tiny town of Franz Josef is not disappointing when it comes to food choices. This restaurant was recommended by 10 cottages with a special mention that they even have a Hummer Stretch Limo which can be arranged for pick-up to and from the restaurant. To me, this is just a fun... More

The presentation and flavours were outstanding, good beer and wine list, good value for money and I enjoyed chatting to the waitress who comes from the Phillipines. We enjoyed our visit here and can recommend it, has vegetarian options and great pizzas for young ones, with more sophisticated choices too.

Tried it out on a tip from the hostel receptionist. Was happily surprised with the beautiful dishes and great flavours. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Franz Josef.

We decided to try this place out because of the trip advisor reviews. Although we both liked the food, it wasn't the best meal we had in Franz Josef. My husband ordered the venison but the portion was fairly small. He said it tasted ok but was overpowered by the sauce. I had the soup of the day and a... More

Highly recommended!!! If you wish quality fine dining service matched with awesome European cuisine for reasonable price, Blue Ice Restaurant is the right place to go in town. It's also a great experience to have a LIMO ride from and back to your hotel/accomodation and be relaxed while having wine on your way to the resto. Must try and see... More

After travelling for over 7 hours we arrived in Franz Josef tired and hungry. This place is quiet and a short distance from the bustle of the centre. We were welcomed by friendly staff and saw lots of folks arriving by stretched limo which looked great fun. We both had lasagna with a salad ($25) which really hit the spot.... More

Grand service: we were collected form the camp site in a stretch limo and delivered home. good food, and the staff try really hard to please and to make the night special. The driver became our waiter; he really does a great job and clearly enjoys what he does.

ate here our first night in town and what it lacks in ambiance it more than makes up for in food, the steak was superb and the missus' duck was delicious, there is a bar upstairs but didnt care for it much, but i cant say enough about the meal!
