NZ country roadside cafes have improved out of sight in the last 20 years and this one has good coffee, a nice selection of breakfast options and friendly service. My big breakfast was very enjoyable and my wife's egg benedict was good but with too much sauce. No complaints really though, its a very pleasant place with good food and... More

Basic but very nice food. Lovely big windows to allow the warm sun in on a winters day, but badly needed cleaning. An appealling little cafe, well set up for families

Have been put off going to this cafe because of the exterior (large wood carved bears on the front lawn and signage on the fence) but when a friend said she would take me there I could not so no. Inside the cafe it is very pleasant and the decor is modern and tasteful, with a mixture of chairs and... More

I got my weekend coffee here when I was visiting recently. Although I didn't order any food this time, from what I could see it looked generous and yummy. And everything was reasonably priced. The person who served me was friendly and efficient and most importantly, the coffee was great.

We dropped into the Three Bears for a late lunch on our way through Renwick. We had heard it was worth stopping there so maybe we expected too much. The food was over priced and pretty mundane, although nicely presented. The coffee and hot chocolate were pretty average really. In addition, my husband got told off for having mud on... More

Always a favourite for my kids but a very nice place to sit down for a quiet coffee before work, during work or after work. Date scoffins (muffin/scone) and anything with Heike's lemon curd will get you coming back. On a business level, the food supplied for corporate functions has always been well received.

My husband and I had heard lots of good comments about 3 Bears Cafe so decided to check it out, we were glad we did. The Eggs Benedict with Salmon was devine and The "Man Burger" was big enough to satisfy and came with chips on the side, and the price was very reasonable. The service was fast and friendly... More
