A free Lord of the Rings experience!

We called in here for a drink on a Friday night. I had a coffee and my husband had a beer. The pub reminded me of the scene in Lord of the Rings when the hobbits call in for a drink at the Prancing Pony in Bree and there is much noise and merriment. There is a nice outdoor area.... read more

Last minute decision to go out for lunch and did not fancy a winery so stopped in at Cork n Keg. Simple menu but teamed up beautifully with excellent friendly service. Obviously the staff love working here

While the initial appearance wasn't the most inviting, this was a great little establishment. The staff are extremely friendly and service was great. The food is limited but reasonably priced. This was explained as the pub had only just changed hands and a new chef was coming soon. However, the food, while not yet restaurant quality, was well cooked, and... More

I did not think the food could get worse than under the old owners but the new owners have certainly managed to serve worse food. The menu consists of Open Sandwiches, toasted sandwiches paninis & a choice of two pies. The Steak pie I ordered was either stale or been reheated the pastry was like concrete, if you manage to... After a day touring the vineyards on a bike the Cork and Keg was a fabulous choice to end the day. Food simple but well presented and fantastic value. Great choice of drinks too. Well worth a visit

English style pub with good atmosphere, a fireplace shared with the pub cat on his chair in prime position, and good pub food at a reasonable price.

The atmosphere was the only good thing about this pub. Beautiful old fire place with a friendly cat curled up next to it. The rest was disappointing to say the least. The steak was the worst I had had in New Zealand. We tried a local wine, as that was just what we did everywhere we travelled, and it was... More

For a cool little pub in the heart of wine country the Cork and Keg is the place to be. A blend of kiwi hospitality and english charm

Described as an olde English country pub, and that's what it feels like. Great service, willing to make an extra little effort, great selection of drinks, a good pub menu, and yummy simple food. So relaxed, no pressure, a chill out zone.
