Good food, lots of choice

Stopped here for breakfast twice. The food is excellent and there is so much choice. We did find the service a little slow though but I think we had chosen the busy time and the food was all cooked from fresh so a slight delay is expected. Nicely situated with parking outside. I would recommend... read more

I am not one to normally post reviews on places/experiences but i feel this one is needed. We stopped here for lunch on Monday and were absolutely appalled to watch as the chef picked his ear scratched his head with the hands he then used to toss around a burger pattie and other food. Not one to be offended with... More

We just had the most delicious meal at pepe's. Amazing pork belly and fish parcels. Gorgeous baby vegetables, altogether a well cooked and delicious meal of quality food. Service was good, wine very nice and the view is very nice over the water. Can highly recommend for an evening meal.

. Thank you for your review. I have spoken with staff with regard to your visit and they remember your order well. There is a very clear recollection that you were in a rush and that for you, from the time you came in, that nothing seemed to be right regardless of the situation. The time frame that you relate... Stopped twice on way to and from Coromandel. All that was required on each occasion was a coffee and a snack. Service was fine and outside seating with view of estuary was pleasant. Snacks tasty. Would call again.

Up until we reached this place we had an amazing time with great experiences through beautiful NZ ... the one staff we encountered was rude and very unhelpful - it was 3pm and we were after a snack until we reached Auckland but when we asked for a simple burger with no cheese, fresh onion and no chips the response... We were advised by our host at the Blue Water Motel - just 2 minutes walk away that The Pepe would be a great place for breakfast. We were not disappointed. My only gripe is that they did not open until eight, and being early risers, we had alittle time to kill. Still... great food trumps that minor complaint any... More

An unbelievably long 40-minute wait for a bland, hardly seasoned beef burger. The waitresss did apologise, but gave no reason for the unacceptable delay. A total thumbs down to this place! Avoid the Pepe.
