The quality of the food never varies. Have been to this restaurant over some years a d the food is always excellent, The salad bar always fresh and great dessert. They do cater for gluten free very well.

Clichéd yet tasteful decor and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meals, which were among the best that we had on our Northland trip. Not just great for Kaitaia, great full stop.

We were in Kaitaia to go to the Cape . We decided to try this restaurant , what a find. They catered to our 7 year old by giving her some marker pens to colour in the place mat , the whole family joined in . The food was awesome , the staff are friendly , efficient and helpful .... More

Very friendly and charming. Food is a little over priced buy nice. All NZ favourites on the menu. A lovely, simple, country restaurant. The wine list is average but the best in the area. Definately the place to dine when in Kaitaia.

After a long day tour up to te Rerenga wairua (Cape Reinga) a welcome meal with great company was on the agenda. The Beachcomber was recommended by our B&B host so off we trotted. Although the Oysters were priced a little higher than I expected they were delicious. The meal was superb and service was good. Loved the fresh salad... More

Having eaten out on a couple of previous trips through Kaitaia, we came to Beachcomber on the recommendation of Alastair at Waters Edge B&B without great expectations. We had a fantastically friendly experience! And kudos to the chef on great food. We had the Salmon, and Seafood platter etc great local wine, and enjoyed the fresh salad bar. Speaking of... More

A good old school salad bar. Nice steaks and pretty waitress and you are off to a good start. Reasonable prices and a reasonable selection.. no complaints here. See you in a month..

We ate here every night during our week in Kaitaia. The servings were generous and everything we had was delicious. Loved the salad bar options. The food, service and ambiance all consistently good. They were particularly helpful advising and catering for one of our party who has severe allergies.

We went as four adults and a two year old boy. The food was perfect food us. Had an old school salad bar that was very well stocked. Prices were great, but the service was absolutely the best. On holiday from down south this place exceeded our expectations. We will absolutely go there again if passing through! Just brilliant!!

It's dinner time, raining and we're hungry, armed with a six year old Lonely Planet guide book we approached Kaitaia. Beachcombers was the recomended choice in 2008, the note about salad bar was a little off putting. We drive up the main street thinking newer options might have sprung up, sadly, uninspiring takeaways are the only alternative at this time... More
