Amazing location, brilliant spot. Place is just unprofessional really, best way to describe it. Service is poor and not knowledgable. Food has gone downhill as well. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day up here, just a field day. Management is off, real shame as this place could really be amazing. 3 stars only based on location.

A group of six of us visited for lunch today. As per above reviews the food was ok but the service was slack and we were not followed up on. Requested extra sauce for kids but never received it. No offers of further service for tea coffee or coffee or dessert. Counter staff had no spark and barely engaged in... More

we went there for lunch and since it is by the sea we ordered a snapper for $32. when it arrived we could already smell that that fish was off. it was covered in a Sauce hollandaise, like the other dish we ordered, and no way we would eat that. we got a refund but nevertheless that fish was off... We visited the Estate for lunch. The setting and views were wonderful, we enjoyed the food - however unfortunately the service was exceptionally poor. We were shown to tables inside that had wet chairs, had to ask for the correct number of menus, chase down staff to clear items from the table, repeatedly ask for water (we ended up getting... More

We knew the restaurant might be busy so called at 12 asking if we could book for 1 and were told they don't take bookings. I then asked how busy it was and was informed that there were plenty of tables and it should be fine. So we drive for 35 mins to get there and find the gates closed... More

The Karikari/Carrington Estate should be a tourist destination for Northland. It should be, but it isn't & it is very unlikely to become so unless they make some changes. The views at KE are nothing short of breathtaking; even with pretty average wines throw in a passable menu & some semi-competent staff it would be a license to print money.... More

We originally went here for a coffee whilst we were touring the area but we stayed for lunch, and were glad we did. The scenery was stunning - lawns, vinyard, palm trees, distant white sand and blue sea. The pizza we had was very tasty and the wine was excellent. The price was also very reasonable. The staff were friendly... More

Would not recommend this place with strong gusty winds as we found out the day we went for lunch. There was a marquee to sit in but no tables available and the staff were very unobliging about us moving the tables we were at - there were10 of us. We did move them closer to the building to try and... More

Loved the views and great pizzas served at the cafe but some of the vineyards seemed abandoned and the wine was not very good.

We just happened to be in the area and as it was our grand daughters 4th birthday, this was to be the celebration point! We hadn't had good reports of this winery for lunch, so went with a completely open mind. What a surprise, the waiting staff were fabulous, they explained right away that they were extremely busy, which was... More
