The Mouse Trap Cafe was one of the stops on the Great Ocean Road Food trail. My party included three fussy 20-something foodies. The lady who served us was welcoming and friendly and gave an informative cheese tasting session. Coffee and the chai tea (real stuff not teabag) was very good. Light snacks of pizzas and toasties were yummy and... More

The ambience was okay, nothing spectacular. The home made scones were doughie! Very disappointing. Bought some cheese.

The mouse trap cafe is a must stop on the foodies route of Great Ocean Road Old fashion hospitality with a smile, cheese tasting professionally conducted, excellent knowledge of products, prices very reasonable, owner willing to chat about local area and products available from other local outlets, easy to find , beautiful gardens , plenty of room for the kids... It's a bout 19 km land inwards from the Great Ocean Road, but definitely worth taking the time for it. The cheeses are delicious, especially the Mountain Man and the Fermier. Staff is extremely friendly. Buy a bottle of shiraz as well and consume your goods in the lovely garden.

We went here for a family holiday with a medium sized group. The service was slow which they kept apologizing for saying they were backed up even though there didn't seem to be many people around at all. The coffee was undrinkable, we left it untouched after one sip. The cheese was amazing but the platters pricey for what you... More

I recently had the pleasure of spending a few days in and around Timboon. We spent Australia Day at the Mousetrap Cafe, which was a great day in the gardens with a local band. My friend and I tried coffee, cheese and wine on the day. I passed my comments onto the team at the Mousetrap Cafe and have no... More

I am glad you enjoyed our Australia Day entertainment, all that were here on the day had a most enjoyable day too. Thank you for your comment on our coffee, it is a relief to see some good reviews and I am still at a loss to explain the complaint of a previous review. Perhaps it is the fresh milk... More

If you are a cheese enthusiast, then this worth a visit. We have been here several times, and enjoy the experience of tasting the products on offer. The cheese are truly unique, and it guess it is because of the area, and the passion of the artisan cheese maker. The gardens are beautiful to enjoy and relax in. Highly recommend... More

Timboon cheese very tasty and sample sizes appropriate for freebies. Staff young, enthusiastic and friendly. Coffee so bad and overpriced it negatively impacts on the experience (left a bad taste on our mouth). We noticed a similar review about the coffee in December 2013 to which the manager replied they were doing something to improve the coffee, obviously the training... More

So sorry your coffee experience was disappointing on the day. Our coffee making is much better than when we first opened in December - our sales for the last 2 months have proven that so I am at a loss to explain what happened to your coffee on that day. If you are still in the area please come back... More

Add this place to your travel plans along the Great Ocean Road, inland from Port Campbell on the "12 Apostles Food Artisans" Route. Fantastic relaxing gardens welcome you. Then unique cheeses, condiments, jams to taste. (We found the tasting samples are perfect size especially if you try the lot as we did!!) It was impossible to choose what to buy!... More
