On Monday nights they have a date night menu for $30. Two appetizers, two entrees, and a dessert to share. We both got the clam chowder which was yummy. I went with freestones pasta with shrimp, artichokes, peppers, and onions. My date got a chicken and steak tips pasta plate that she enjoyed as well. The chocolate bundt cake was... More

Such a pretty restaurant, old world feel in quaint historic area. Great menu, lots of choices. Food is good, nice clientele. Really good clam chowder. Good service. Tried it when we got snowed in in New Bedford and it was a lovely experience.

The new menu item of Portuguese surf and turf is fantastic. The Portuguese sauce has just the right amount of spice! A must stop restaurant for anyone staying in New Bedford.

We met some friends here for dinner. I never heard of the place, but since our friends picked the place, it was worth a shot, Long story short, food was amazing, our waitress was a lot of fun, This is a place I will visit again in the near future

...and go less than a block to Freestone's. The Portuguese Calamaris is the most amazing flavor I have ever experienced. I have lived in Europe for over 15 years and visited many placed, including Portugal several times, but when that flavor touched my tongue...this world became a better place to live. I live in the Midwest, but can't wait to... More

First-the building (inside and outside) is very interesting...very nice restoration of a historical building. Food is fantastic-I've had a couple different salads, chili, wraps and a burger over the past couple months of visiting New Bedford for work. Food at lunch time is delivered quickly-but not too quick, if you know what I mean. The service is always professional, friendly... More

Freestones is located in the historic downtown area of New Bedford complete with cobblestone streets. The restaurant is located in an old bank building. Nicely done. Great bar. Friendly and efficient waitstaff. Excellent chowder, the best nachos around, great variety of interesting fresh salads, excellent lobster roll. Guaranteed to please. I would highly recommend.

The venue itself is unique and eclectic including interesting art objects and a remarkable bar. The menu is likewise unique including the largest lobster roll in the world and an Onion Soup Steak sandwich both excellent. The real treat is a team of servers who actually make you fe welcome. Don't miss trying this restaurant you'll be happy you did.... More

I was in the Historic Downtown Area of New Bedford, Massachusetts, and planned to eat here right after the Whaling Museum visit. As always, great Stuffed Baked Cod and Clam Chowder. Everything else is good here too. I highly recommend! Two rabbit ears up!! (\ (\ ( -.-) o_(")(")
