Yummy food, nice atmosphere

We went here for lunch during the week. We had a nice table by the window. Food is elevated pub fare, the noise level was not bad -- but we were here during the day, so it might get noisier at night. The building is a 19th century bank, and lots of old touches made the restaurant charming and... read more

Having read all the reviews and a Phantom Gourmet recommendation, we were excited about a luncheon. The atmosphere was very nice with polished wood and big windows looking out to the cobblestone streets of this historic district. The staff were friendly, attentive and courteous. However, the food was disappointing.I love burgers but this one was nothing special and the fries... More

Always strive to find the best burger around and this did not disappoint. Rate the burger a 10! family member had the chicken sandwich with avocado that was to die for. Nice waitress. Love the decor. A little busy and we had to ask for the check because our parking meter was due to expire, but no big deal, definitely... More

Our family of 4 went for a quick lunch after a local soccer game on Sunday May 17,2015. We were looking for a quick lunch before hitting the road heading home.We all enjoyed the fries that came with our meals and I especially appreciated the malt vinegar coming with the ketchup. I got the blackened chicken avo club. It was... More

Food is always great at Freestones. Lots of variety, whether you are looking for seafood or burgers it's all good! Great location as it is downtown New Bedford, close to the shops and the Whaling Museum.

You can't really beat their Monday night "date night" specials. 2 salads or soups, 2 entrees, and a dessert to share for $30. Service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. We will definitely be making Freestone a part of our restaurant rotations.

I have been coming to this restaurant almost all my life. The food is consistently excellent. The service is typically very good. They have THE BEST chicken cesar salad I have ever had. I tried the cesar salad while 'dieting' for my wedding and it was so good that I now go just for that (over the less healthy type... More

I love to eat at Freestones, when I have a lot of time to spend. The food is always fresh and prepared to order, which explains my main complaint... it takes a long time to receive your dishes. Because there are not too many tables, this can cause longer than usual wait times. But everything else is worth it. The... More

I selected this restaurant based on previous TripAdvisor reviews and was very, very disappointed. Service was okay. I liked our waitress, but she wasn’t very attentive. The décor was okay. The actual prices at the restaurant were at least $3-4 more than the menu on the TripAdvisor site (a 25% difference). My husband ordered a specialty hamburger with Portuguese sauce.... More
