"No problem" we thought; then we discovered that... More

My family members traveled from Texas to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday with other family that lives in and around New Bedford. My mom always raved about Freestones and so we made a reservation for 12 of us on Good Friday. When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation. IT was Friday night on Easter weekend at 7:30pm...the... More

The food was tasty and the service was friendly, but there was nothing particularly exceptional about it. Seemed like a good standard lunch place.

I was a resident of NB in childhood and through 1983. I remember when Freestones was new and through my sporadic visits back to the area, this has been a welcomed constant. Nice to see the brass monkey, which is familiar and brings a warm feeling. Food is great and acceptable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Pub feeling, local, comfortable, lovely... More

My retirement job was as a security guard at 800 Purchase St. During that time I had many people, who were visiting New Bedford either as tourists or on business, ask my advice on a good restaurant. I always sent them to Freestone's and not once did I hear anything back except how great it was. I myself love to... More
