We stopped in by chance and ordered the tomato basil soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. Both were delicious! The staff was friendly and polite. Prices were average. The only drawback was that while it was casual, the interior was a little shabby and could use some updating.

Great soup, great sandwiches! More grilled cheese options than I have ever seen and lots of soup options from healthy to not, vegetarian if you want. All five of us were happy. We went on a cold rainy day but it looked like they had chilled soups and of course sandwiches for hot days.

Went on a super humid, sweltering hot summer day. Soup on such a hot day? Yes!! We tried clam chowder and gazpacho. We preferred the clam chowder. We saw others trying the lentil soup which looked delicious, but we had already ordered our meals. The place was packed. You go in, place your order, pay and then sit down. There are... More

Really great for lunch, in our case. Had tomato bisque, chick pea peanut curry (amazingly good), and chicken vegetable soups. Loved them all but the tomato bisque could have been hotter (didn't mention it to the staff). Also had a great Italian baby spinach salad, grilled cheese pizza, and regular grilled cheese. Oven-roasted tomatoes on the spinach salad were very... More

Recently stopped for a late lunch with my daughters (13 and 22). Very casual place with a friendly, helpful staff. My cream of mushroom soup was the best I've ever eaten! My daughters loved their soups as well (clam chowder and a vegetarian selection). We shared an amazing generous sized salad with quinoa (not usually my favorite) which we all... More

We had just visited the Ocean Explorium, a marine science center, which is great for young children. Right across the street is Destination Soups. Excellent choice for lunch. It is in an interesting looking older building, very casual with good, healthy food. Among us we ordered sandwiches, soups, and hummus plate. It was all excellent. Check when it is open.... More

Destination Soups on Union St., opened it's doors few years ago. It has been a welcomed pleasure to the culinary aspect in New Bedford. Simply put...you should give yourself a treat and experience the joys of soup at it's best. Every morning they post on their web site what the specials are of the day. Every day they have two... I have boosted this place more times than I can count for lunch and even their dinner. It's a wonderful environment. The staff is friendly. The food is prefect. Fresh. Made to order every time. The salads are so fresh toy would think they just picked the food from a garden in the back.

Seriously loved this place! We were touring the nearby New Bedford Whaling Museum two days after Christmas. I was with my fiance, his sister and her two children (ages 12 and 7). We started the museum tour, but the younger child became hungry. We checked at the museum desk if we'd be allowed back in if we left for lunch.... More

My husband and I were walking in New Bedford after a visit to the whaling museum. "I am hungry" says I. "I could eat" says he. So, we walk for a bit. "Chinese?" "Too heavy" "Irish Pub" "Too expensive." Then, we stubble upon Destination Soups. It was a light in the darkness, a rest for the weary, a warm, soupy... More
