AL-FRESCO GOOD FOOD!!!

We had dinner in the garden of Palacio de Valle. The place is classy and very romantic and offers live music...with the opportunity to play with the band :-) !!. The food - BBQ pork + rice + typical Cuban food + vegs + dessert - was fresh and very tasty...and it cost us only $ 12.00 pp; being a... read more

If the architecture doesn't blow you away, try the roast pig. This tribute to love is one of the better restaurants in the area.

An eclectic late 1910’s palace, lavishly decorated with Neo-Moorish, Venetian and Gothic motifs, often compared to the Alhambra Palace in Spain, the most beautiful home ever built in Cuba and the result of a sugar baron’s vast fortunes. It houses a magnificent seafood restaurant at the moment.

Placido de Valle is a mixture of architectural design. Very interesting but most of the building is closed to the tourism. Only the first floor and the roof where open when I visited the site. Is a spectacular place for those interested in Art and architecture. The food isn't great. There are a lady in a piano who play some... More

We went to dinner here on the basis that it was advertised as fine dining in a stunning building. The food was decidedly average and was plainly geared for the busloads of European tourists who were there. Service was patchy. I had better food, larger servings and for less cost at a beach cafe at Playa Santa Maria a couple... More

We were able to tour this amazing building (which is reputed to have cost over $11m in its day) whilst waiting for our lunchtime 'slot' at a nearby restaurant. The views from the rooftop, accessed via a circular staircase are well worth the visit alone, and there is a bar at the top after your climb! We returned for dinner... More

We were recommended to go to Palacio de Valle for late night drinks. We arrived at 21.30h and the roof terrace was already closed. We returned the next morning to look at the building. You can only visit the ground floor and the roof terrace. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The restaurant is frequented by tour groups.

We just dropped into the hotel as part of a Cuban experience tour - views from the top were lovely. It would have been wonderful to have stayed there as the interior looks great.

We walked down to this restaurant from Casa Martha Pena. The food was delicious and the service really good. A bit more formal than some of the other places we have been to in Cienfuegos and matched by a really good meal.
