Chango is a relatively new paladar in Cienfuegos. It is only a couple of blocks east off the Prado just at the beginning of the Malecon, I believe it is right next to another paladar called Ache. The owner, Carlos, is often out front and welcomes you. His wife is the cook, both are very friendly. There is a small bar and the restaurant seats about 20 people. We ate there one night and came back 4 out of the next 5 nights. Lots of variations on lobster, shrimp, chicken, fish, pork and beef. Try the Enchilida Lobster, loved it. I also took a group of 20 people there one night, everyone loved it. Shrimp cocktail, lobster, desert, beverage and coffee come to about $15/person. Watch what you say and do though, Carlos is a Santaria Priest.

The Trio Sabor Cubano makes this special

The food and drinks are great and the ambience wonderful. But the best part for us was the music by the Trio Sabor Cubano. The young men in the band are genuine, kind and talented. Thanks Elvis, Franklyn and Yordanis for making our visit in Cienfuegos the best ever! We will be back. I... read more

I have been to Cienfuegos several times, and this is by far, my favorite restaurant. The food is really good and not expensive, the place is lovely and the drinks are really good. One of the best mojitos in Cuba are served in Chango. Last time I visited Cienfuegos I went with some friends to take some drinks there. I... More

The Chango is near the Ache. But you can even not compare the two. There business consist in getting the customers of the Ache when it is full or closed (which happened quite a few times some 2 years ago). The restaurant is narrow, the exhaust of an air-conditioner may blow you into your face; the food is medium at... More

Kindly service, very good taste, normal prices and a looooot of food!!! :) We followed the taxi driver recommendation and we decided to celebrate a birthday over there. We got surprised by a real "lot of food" in each dishes!!! It's a typical Cuban style place... I would come back.

Good quality food at excellent prices. It is used by tour groups (we were 9), but good range of choices including the ubiquitous lobster.

I had dinner with my husband at Aché and when coming out of Aché the waiters and the owner of Casa de Chango caught us and started to denigrate Aché. They said that food quality was much better in their place, prices much better, a cocktail only 1 CUC. The next day a bike taxi driver litterally pushed us to... More

My favorite paladar in Cienfuegos, Cuba. Best service, and food, very clean, ate a huge Lobster plate for a very reasonable price, I can eat there every day, and don't get tired, they have a huge menu to choose from. A very pleasant place to chill, and have a few beers while eating their delicious lobster, cozy atmosphere to hangout... More

We had planned to eat at Ache next door but took a look and thought it looked a bit sterile and touristy so went to Casa de Chango instead and were really please we did. The interior of the restaurant is very kitschy and the atmosphere was chilled out and pleasing. Service was excellent, the food was amazing, especially the... More

The best service and food in Cienfuegos! You must go if you want to meet the real people in Cuba, the real taste of Cuban food. Carlos and Ilka were wonderful. They will do anything for you. You need a place to stay, they can find it, you need a guide, they have them there for you. And they have... More

A big tourist trap. Over price terrible food. A thin slice of chicken with some black beans and rice for 12cuc. Go to Blue Bahia instead , much more better food and very reasonable price.
