My partner and I had a most wonderful stay and dinner at Le Manoir. The room and ensuite were perfect. The staff treat you like family. Our dinner was situated in a most romantic setting for two. We ordered the seafood platter pour deux…magnificent.

A dining experience is offered on weekend days, 2 lady chefs conduct in the kitchen, that sounds promising and our expectations were pretty high. The menu selection was good, next to single dishes, plats principaux (a combination of entree and main dish, including a tomato...soup or a salad) is offered. We decided to take the plats. The tomato soup was OK but the soup was a bit to sweet, the salad missed (had no) a dressing. The main courses ordered Assiete de fruits de mer (scallops, shrimps, langoustine and squid rings), Carré d’agneau with mint sauce and a filet mignon with a crémeuse aux champignons sauvages . The fish plate was nothing special as all parts of the fish were rolled in cheese-breadcrumbs but not seasoned in salt/pepper! The lamb racks were nice, but the mint sauce was a mixture of mint vinegar and a dash of oil. The filet mignon was good but the mushroom sauce was not a mushroom sauce.More
Historic home in quaint village setting. Host 'Jasmine' very gracious : Chef 'Sophie' and her team cooked an amazing 'Chateaubraid' flambe to perfection by the very capable 'Etienne' :-) Best meal we had during our 10 day holiday!! All this during a severe storm (May...21st) and power outage. We were very well looked after. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!!More
Le Manoir de Becancour, A charming and delightful place. We came to this enchanted manoir for a 6 course meal. We were amaze by the divine taste and the remarkable service. It’s by far the most calming and soothing diner I have ever experience in...my life. It’s a must try.More
Hi LJWinnipeg, It was a real pleasure to see you in Becancour, good food and service are our trademark :-) We hope to see you again!
This is a not to be missed, totally delightful Country inn. The food is excellent, service is top notch and the ambiance of this auberge is to-die-for. Particularly enchanting on a chilly winter's night with a fairyland snowscape outside, and the cosy warmth inside which...welcomes guests the minute they arrive! Rooms decorated tastefully by the extremely talented owner Jasmine. An absolute MUST!More
We spent three weeks touring Canada and the meal we had here was the best of the lot. The size of the portions was just right for us and we were able to have three courses instead of just one as so often happens with...us in North America.More
What a 3 star dinner we had with Sophie at the helm! It rivaled our dinner at the Château Frontenac but was much more intimate and peaceful
We took our friends who had just celebrated their 80th birthday. Arrived a wee bit early and we were able to enjoy a drink in the foyer. No rush, we were able to extend our drink 15 minutes after our reservation . Food was excellent...- 2 ordered steaks done to our liking, as was the salmon. The fourth person had a mixed seafood platter which she thoroughly enjoyed. Having explained the reason for our outing when making reservations, the 2 birthday persons were served a dessert on the house.More
As stated, food was great. Breakfast was supplied and good as well. Have already rated hotel so 100 characters is not necessary
Ate twice at the Manoir whilst on holiday in the Quebec region. On the first occasion the restaurant was quiet and both food and service were excellent. As a result we booked for another evening. On booking we were told there was a large party...booked in, so we agreed a time for a table which would accommodate us all. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, we chose our food and were reasonably quickly served the starters, which we ate and enjoyed. We then waited for the plates to be cleared. And waited. And waited. We were topped up with fresh water, but still the plates weren't cleared. No one apologised for the delay. Eventually the plates were taken and our main course was served. One was not as ordered. Another didn't arrive with the rest. It finally came and the recipient was disappointed with her choice. However the other 3 mains were delicious - I can recommend the Aberdeen Angus steak. On the whole, I thought the food good and not overpriced for its quality; I felt let down by the service and the attitude of one of the male staff in particular, who told us we had been given good service when we decided to reduce the tip accordingly- we are from Europe, and the customers decide what is good service, not the staff. We probably would choose not to leave a tip at all in Europe. On the positive side, the owners apologised and gave us a free drink to compensate. Shame though that it happened at all - a few words earlier apologising for the delay between courses would have solved the problem at the outset. Perhaps some staff training required.More
I found this place on line and took my son for a 5 day stay. While there was nothing to do around (I do not drive), we were able to rest, read, eat amazing food, and spend time in the whirl pool every day. I...was able to find a biodiversity place about 6km walk, and it is worthy a visit. Also we went to a bigger hotel with golf and a day spa (10km) and had a great day there. One of the Becancour Manor owners gave us a ride and saved us a lot of money we would have to spend on taxi. Rooms are beautiful and super comfortable. The owners and staff are welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend to anyone who needs some peace and quite to truly rest.More
Very French feeling--in the best sense. Wonderful lamb dinner, and the bagatelle dessert alone would have been worth the trip.
I had the soup du jour and the dish of the day. A vegitable soup puree that had some great spice and flavour! And the Fusilli with peto was dekicious. Perhaps a little too al dente for the average pasta consumer, but i thoroughly enjoyed...it.More
Simply Great!!! The food and the service is great!!
