We were pretty tired when we arrived for lunch after driving all morning, so it was nice to relax in the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. I ordered the quinoa salad, which was very good. I had asked for a half size, but the waiter apparently didn't hear me and I wound up with a large and didn't complain, though... More

Lane's has recently undergone extensive interior renovations. Past experiences here left us disappointed however we decided to give it another try having heard some positive comments from others. We dined at 6pm Saturday as a group of five adults. We were disappointed at the outset that the usual dining areas with tablecloths and better appointments were deserted, a staff member... More

Thank you so much for your review. As we undergo our renovation we welcome feedback so that we can clarify the plans for the inn. The former dining areas are available for private parties of 6- 60 people. They are the next stage of the renovation and will become a wine tasting/ formal private dining room (seating 6-20 people) and... More

Stopped for lunch as my partner had eaten here many times while on business and raved about the seafood chowder. Unfortunately this time the person serving up the chowder did not stir the pot as it was all potato with 2 half pieces of scallops. Our wait staff was very apologetic and stated it had happened earlier in the week... More

There are few choices for casual up-scale dining in the area of Nova Scotia's South Shore, between Bridgewater and Yarmouth. Consequently, living in the Liverpool area, my wife and I have been visiting this restaurant on a reagular basis for almost five years. This summer, we have visited the restaurant on three occasions, each time with visitors from central Canada. On... More

Dear Mr. Doucet~ 2014 is a big year for the inn as we take on an extensive renovation to the restaurant, guestrooms, retail shops and function rooms. This summer we have had the busiest season in seven years largely due to the recently renovated restaurant and the return of the Yarmouth ferry. It has been exciting and by times, challenging.... After spending the day on the road we were looking for a patio where we could enjoy a cool drink and a meal so we stopped at the restaurant at Lane's Privateer Inn. The tree covered patio area near the river was nice and relaxing. We were happy to be able to sit outside as the restaurant was a little... More

The atmosphere here was a great first impression as it was homey and quaint with lots of antique woods. The service was good and the food was as well. I had the fish and chips and it was tender and excellent. Definitely worth a look!

Restaurant much better than the Hotel part. Good food, nice atmosphere, and outdoor patio when weather permits. I had breakfasts and dinners here and was never disappointed. Excellent service.

This an older facility, but we had a king room which was spacious. Initially the wifi wouldn't connect, butthe issue was resolved quickly by the front office. We really enjoyed the meal we had in the on-site dining room. Also Susan at the front took some time to point out various aspects of the facility. Well done!!

Being from Halifax, I went to Lane's restaurant in the cooler months where we ate dinner inside. That occassion did not disappoint. So recently with opportunity to take my tour clients out for lunch, I thought of Lane's. A beautiful day, we sat outside where the beautiful grounds heightened the culinary experience & friendly service ! All noted by the... More

There was nothing to dislike about this wonderful restaurant. The surrounding environs offered such a magical setting and the food was excellent. For this Kiwi, this was my first taste of a Nova Scotian seafood chowder and introduction to the spinach and strawberry salad (with the most divine blueberry dressing). This was pure heaven and marked our first night in... More
