Very tasty meal!

I had seafood chowder that was very well prepared and delicious. I also had a BLT sandwich made on home made bread with thick chicken breast slices in the sandwich and cesar salad. The sandwich was so l large that I could only eat half.

Smoked salmon eggs benedict were a creamy version of heaven. Thick tasty homemade bread was a treat. Sad to see the gift shop had downsized but they still have a nice variety. Extra seating will no doubt come in handy. Left with a happy belly and aioli I've been unable to find anywhere. Our server was kind. We were impressed... More

The last time we visited this restaurant was for my wife's birthday. Some interesting soups were on offer along with the chef's homemade bread. We each tried a different soup, enjoyed the baking and completed the meal with a cup of coffee. Just what we were looking for: a light lunch, well prepared and reasonable on the pocket book. We... We tried the seafood chowder, chicken and apple panini, and a burger with poutine. All were very good though the panini was a bit overcooked yet still delicious. The burger came on a homemade cheese roll - yum. Coconut cream pie was creamy and not too sweet. Staff was very friendly and the view was great. A little pricey but... More

The ambiance, in the style of a pub, the view on the river, the food (caesar salad and scallops), the draught beer, the open fire, all of this is geared to make you feel at home and happy. There was nothing I disliked!

This is the first time I have been in the hotel dining room since it has been redone. It is just lovely. Each table had a unique chair or church pew bench. The lighting and frame shelves behind the bar are stunning . Well done on these renovations. The lunch menu had plenty of choices. Home cooked goodness but with... More

We had our New Year's Eve Dinner at Lane's Privateer Inn. This was the best meal that we have experienced in a very long time, anywhere. All courses were prepared to perfection. A true dining experience. We stayed for an evening of dancing and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. This hotel has a great ambiance and offers so much. Our... More

I have traveled to the South Shore of Nova Scotia over 15 times. Lane's has been a place we have frequented for several years. One thing, the food is always very good, and even though Nova Scotia is know for their wonderful seafood, many restaurants have problems with just the basic fish and chips. Lane's does not have this problem.... More

The atmosphere was great and on the first night we sat by a window overlooking the water. The food and service were very good. In fact we returned the next night for another great experience. Their fish cakes are really good.
