Located at Stanton Hall, this restaurant is worth visiting just to see the grounds. Especially in the spring when the flowers are blooming.. The restaurant is located in the building where the wagons were kept but the dining room is elegant. The food is southern. It is almost secondary to the experience. I could eat a plate of the little... More

The food was both very tasty and hearty portions -- somewhat a rarity for a lunch. The waiter was very personable and added to our enjoyment of the meal. Also the location is very convenient being close to Stanton Hall and downtown.

Great, great restaurant only because of the ambiance and terrific staff! But why would a Southern restaurant (in the heart of the Old South) serve fried chicken that's worse than KFC?

After reading excellent reviews on Trip Advisor about the food in general and the Crazy Rantings of the Fried Chicken, we knew we had to visit the Carriage House. We arrived shortly before opening at 11AM, casually walked and took in the views of the Stanton Hall grounds. Waiting to enter the Dining area we thought we were in trouble... More

My friends and I decided at the last minute to eat at Stanton Hall before our tour. It was 1:30 and they close at 2 pm. The place was packed because of a tour bus, but they found a table for us and we mentioned that we didn't mind if they seated others with us. We met two people from... More

I was not overly impressed with the food. There wasn't anything wrong with it, it just wasn't extratorinary...pretty average. Our waitress on the other hand was awesome, very attentive!!

OMG! Just like grandma's biscuits only smaller. Food was excellent. Had the hunter gumbo, fried chicken and mashed potatoes. One of the best meals I've had in Natchez. Friend tried the mint julep. Uhhh, nap time. Just a little strong. Downside was service. At one time he told us not to leave so he wouldnt have to deal with new... More

I grew up in Georgia, and the fried chicken at the Carriage House tastes just like my grandmother's buttermilk fried chicken. Ditto on the gravy and the silver dollar biscuits. They have a very good buffet on Sunday. They are open for lunch only, and the prices are reasonable ($12 for the full fried chicken lunch with potatoes, gravy, biscuits... More

My husband and I went to Carriage House restaurant at Staunton Hall while in Natchez for the Fall Pilgrimage. We had tickets for the Voices of Hope Gospel Music show and our dinner was included. The food and the service were very, very good. The biscuits were delish and the rest of our Southern cooking was too! The gospel music... More
