Great Southern home cooking in a very pleasant setting: My husband thoroughly enjoyed his fried chicken. My salmon croquettes were just like Mother made, except that Mother never gilded the lily by topping each croquette with a poached egg and aioli. The real stars of the meal, however, were the best angel biscuits I have ever eaten. The restaurant shares... More

Although the prices have increased since our last visit and they no longer serve their wonderful salad as a side item with lunch, the chicken, mashed potatoes and biscuits are great! Although we did not know that we liked butter peas, we had them and they were very good. As we were exiting the restaurant, we ran into the chef... More

Had the buffet and probably the best one I've had. Chicken would melt in your mouth and beef was magnificent. Butter beans were great. All in all could it have been any better. Don't forget the pecan pie.

My wife and I were on a Steamboat Cruise up the Mississippi which stopped in Natchez. Natchez is a lovely town filled with antebellum houses and the Stanton Hall is one of the finest. It has been renovated by the garden club who have done a fantastic job. The Carrage House restaurant is on the same grounds and has also... More

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch of southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, dollar biscuits, and sweet tea.... Wonderful!

Enjoyed a FABULOUS Sunday brunch after a great tour of Stanton Hall. After reading reviews, was very excited to taste the chef's offerings. Right before the restaurant opened, the delightful Chef Bingo even found a few minutes to throw a football on the front lawn with his two young boys. I found that VERY endearing! Once we were seated, you... More

We toured Stanton Hall and ate lunch in its restaurant, the Carriage House. Boy, are we glad we made that choice! The food was just outstanding. I had the tamale appetizer, and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I was sure there was no way to top that, but I was wrong. My wife and I... More

The dining room was beautiful as were the surrounding gardens. The lunch menu was not terribly exciting but the chicken was tasty and the smoked brisket very good. Their biscuits and jelly were excellent as was the service.

If your way ever leads through Natchez Mississippi, stop by the Carriage house restaurant. From fried chicken so perfect I cried a little, to a ribeye that could be straight out of a top steakhouse, we were overwhelmed with comfort food. The best part, other than Mary's hospitality? Pecan cobbler that may have transported me through time.

This is a beautiful place and the fried chicken was fried to perfection. The drinks were sting and the dollar biscuits were fantastic.
