We're Addicted! Great Shakes

Honestly, this place puts together the most delicious frozen treats you will encounter in Natchez, or possibly the rest of the world. I can only comment on the vanilla malt, chocolate malt, and chocolate sundae (or sundies as they call them). Each was individually the best I've ever had, and my... read more

I can only comment on the vanilla malt, chocolate malt, and chocolate sundae (or sundies as they call them). Each was individually the best I've ever had, and my wife agrees. Just a little place beside the road but it is great! Best malts & shakes in Natchez. And a full sandwich menu if you are hungry!

A real throwback to the mom and pop burger and ice cream shop, this place has a walk up window and a drive through. The small chocolate milkshake hits the spot after a long morning of walking around the city.

We spent our honeymoon in Natchez 30 years ago. That's the first time I saw the Malt Shop. We have visited Natchez once or twice a year since then and we finally did it. We ate at the Malt Shop. We both had burgers and chocolate malts. They were good. We've concluded that anything wrapped in that thin white paper... More

Great service and even better ice cream. The ice cream dishes were all of the old fashioned kind like I had as a kid. It is the perfect stop after a nice dinner in Natchez.

The malt shop is a little hole in the wall in Natchez. It has great food and some of the best ice cream you can get. Love there banana split.

Growing up in Natchez, teenagers didn't patronize the Malt Shop (back then called The Dairy Queen) unless we were just going for a chocolate dipped cone. In the 50;s, 60;s 70;s,,,,,,,,everyone "hung out" at Monmouth Drive Inn (just across street from Monmouth Mansion). This was more of the local "hangout" where you took your date after a movie, etc., or... More

We stopped here for lunch on our trip. Good burger and fries, and delicious malts! It appeared like a lot of locals frequent the place by calling ahead and ordering and then just picking it up. There is no indoor seating, and just one long picnic table under the porch of the walk-up windows where you order. If we get... More

This "staple" has been around for 50 plus years. Homemade mayonnaise dresses their burgers!!! It takes a little while but well worth the wait.

Good food, but we did have to wait a bit. Tons of people eat here because it is probably to most affordable in town. Burgers and fries were good and they make to order. Shakes were good and they offered free refills on our drinks. We sat and ate in the car and didn't even care. It was warm outside... More
