Don't Miss

Growing up in Natchez, teenagers didn't patronize the Malt Shop (back then called The Dairy Queen) unless we were just going for a chocolate dipped cone. In the 50;s, 60;s 70;s,,,,,,,,everyone "hung out" at Monmouth Drive Inn (just across street from Monmouth Mansion). This was more of the local... read more

We stopped here for lunch on our trip. Good burger and fries, and delicious malts! It appeared like a lot of locals frequent the place by calling ahead and ordering and then just picking it up. There is no indoor seating, and just one long picnic table under the porch of the walk-up windows where you order. If we get... More

This "staple" has been around for 50 plus years. Homemade mayonnaise dresses their burgers!!! It takes a little while but well worth the wait.

Good food, but we did have to wait a bit. Tons of people eat here because it is probably to most affordable in town. Burgers and fries were good and they make to order. Shakes were good and they offered free refills on our drinks. We sat and ate in the car and didn't even care. It was warm outside... More

We happened to chance upon the Malt Shop after visiting one of the fine antebellum homes on the Natchez Fall Pilgrimage Tour. We heard the 1950's Rock and Roll Music blaring from their loudspeaker while we were walking around and decided to locate its source. This is a simple Mom and Pop style Malt Shop dating back to the 1950's.... More

A little out of the way malt shop that takes you back to your child hood. Good food and treats. Must visit this place.

Travel back to the 1960s and walk up to the window and order a malt or milkshake. The shake was delicious.

Great burgers and fries, not far off main section of town. Popular lunch stop with great malts, or soft drinks.

The malt shop is a Natchez staple, although recently I have been very disappointed... The malt shop lately is very hit and miss... Sometimes it's good, sometimes is awful but honestly it's not worth the gamble with so many wonderful local resturants within a mile or two

So much better than fast food at the same price. It's a really good burger. The wait can be lengthy so call and place your order ahead of time. Be sure and have cash, as they do not take a card.
