Beautiful ambience, good food, but overpriced

From the moment you walk in the restaurant you are greeted by a delightful host, I have never had to wait for a table, even when they are busy.Shortly after being seated the waiter is there, no wait for anything. Fresh bread and olive oil is brought to the table. The restaurant makes their own olive oil right there! One of... More

What an unexpected treat. We happened upon this and were delited! The atmosphere is charming. Service is top notch. We had a pizza with anchovy, capers, and basil....my new favorite. Very original to the pizzas we ate in Italy. Our only disappointment were the desserts. Profiterole came without chocolate...I've never had it that way though the taste was excellent. Tiramisu came... More

I've been to Frantoio multiple times and the food is consistently delicious. They also have a serious wine list with CA and international varietals. However, last time, our waiter was noticeably in a rush, which made us feel a bit anxious.

Frontoio is big, which means, come dinner time, it can be loud. Fortunately, if you ask ahead, there are a few hidden places that are quieter. So, my first recommendation, if you are traveling with people who have a hard time hearing, or if you are with a larger group and want to be able to hear one another without... More

Our dinner options were many and they all looked very interesting. I ended up with a gnocchi made with potato and spinach and served with a wine reduction sauce. It was divine. We had tiramisu for dessert, and while I have had many poor tiramisus in the past, this one was perfect. This restaurant is definitely worth a try.

We stayed at the adjacent Holiday Inn. After a whirlwind day of shopping and touring we didn't have the energy to go to a sit down restaurant. We ordered two pizzas from Frantoio. They were supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. We returned to pick them up in about 30 minutes and they were not ready, apparently the order... More

During a recent visit to the Bay Area, my Dad and I stopped here for a wonderful dinner. This is not the kind of Italian place where you'd expect to find spaghetti & meatballs. I tried the pork tenderloin on risotto and my dad had grilled salmon -- both were excellent. I'd also highly recommend the asparagus soup, which I... More

Great service, but the food was just average. The prices were a bit high, considering the food. Seems like a nice place--nicely decorated. Could be really great if food was improved

I have been to Frantoio's twice. Mauricio and Deborah provide the most amazing service you could hope for! I usually will not order lamb when I am out because when I do I always think, "I make it better at home". Mauricio told me I would love the lamb and I did! I can't make it THIS good at home!...
