A charming spot, delicious food, wonderful service, great wine list

It might be more telling about me, rather than the restaurant, but it's seems difficult for me to reconcile the concept of a high-end, wonderful steak house on every level, not having a full liquor license. I know they're hard to come buy in hotly contested communities, and there's liability and... read more

I had the best steak I have had in years. Absolutely delicious. The price was out of this world. I am afraid I will not go back as it was way, way too expensive but we had to try it at least once. Perhaps when I pay off my home equity loan for the meal I can go back.

We had 6 in our party for New Year's Eve. It started off poorly, no hard liquor license in a high end restaurant! It went down hill from there. Our server really had an attitude and didn't seem to want to be there. Now the food. The appetizers were good, especially the oysters Rockefeller. Now the entrees. I shared the... More

It's hard to say which was worse - the food or the service. Both terrible. Food came out cold. Way too many items with bacon on the menu. Inferior cut of steak. And the service was both arrogant and incompetent at the same time. We won't go back

This very romantic restaurant, tucked down a cobblestone alley, is full of delightful nooks & crannies to enjoy for tables of 2 or more and also has a wonderful, outdoor covered patio with fire pit table surrounded by cushioned couches, chairs and candle lanterns (REALLY romantic). While it has so much going for it there are 2 drawbacks. #1. The... More

The saddest thing about El Paseo was that, if not for the horrible waiter we had, I may have had a nice time there with my friends. Instead, Ira's rudeness and facial expressions indicating complete disregard ruined the evening. I've been a regular at the Wayfare Tavern since I discovered it during the summer. Both are owned by the same... More

The food was excellent, the wine was great. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant itself was beautiful and romantic. It's a great place to go for a special occasion.

I love the ambiance at El Paseo. It is stunning, cozy, and overall incredible. The food was good, not great. But, I would recommend eating here. I had steak and my friend had the ribs. I would recommend the ribs over the steak. The service was great.

Was anxiously awaiting to taste Tyler Florence's food and visit this visually impressive restaurant that is set slightly off the street in the amazing little town of Mill Valley. I was surprised to see our waiter in blue jeans as this did not go with the looks or feel of this establishment. Neither did his attitude. I ordered the short... More

The meat is obviously the thing. At our table we had a pork chop, filet mignon, chicken and tuna. The flavors of the first three were among the best I've had. The tuna was cooked as I ordered it, but what came with it was a little lackluster. The beet-colored deviled eggs were highly recommended but weren't anything special. The... More
