Delicious, beautiful food and, cozy, vibrant, charming ambiance

Food: delicious. Decor: the most charming, warm place in Marin. We ate: clams in brodo--actually tiny steamed clams in butter garlic parsley sauce--not a brodo; 32 ounce rib eye--plenty for three to share. Kale salad with crisp and fresh raw kale. Very crispy, flavorful pomme frites. Beautiful... read more

El Paseo has amazing meats and food. It is not the cheapest place around, with steaks in the $30's and $40's (or more for Kobe of course), but the quality is uniformly good and the service matches the cost. All around comfort food with a luxe touch. Some amazing steak and rack of lamb, truly delicious. Deep wine list, if... More

We went there for a nice dinner, but it is pretty hard to find, as it's entrance is hidden deep inside. The service staff are not that friendly, and the place is pretty dim. It was pretty packed for a sunday and I had the pork chop which was pretty good, but unfortunately the place is pretty cramped and no... More

I have tried this place three times now and think it is very over priced for the food. We brought our own wine because we could not find a glass of bold wine that we liked. The ambiance is wonderful, but for my steaks I think I will stick with Harris in San Francisco!

My in laws loved El Paseo. When we all visited there we knew life was good. Great food. Excellent service. It was a place to relax, and enjoy the people you were with, so of course after Willie's passing, this was a place for us all to meet, and remember. Our large group was fed family style with platers of... More

It was our anniversary on Sunday, and we learned that El Paseo had live music in the alley there and good deals on Champagne. So, we gave it a try and snacked on some deviled eggs, spicy fries and Billecart Saumon Brut Rose. That was superb and the band was great. Normally you would have to pay lots more for... More

Sat in one of the many outdoor tables and it felt like I was eatting some where on the Med. The food was amazing and a great wine selection. They do not have a full bar just wine and beer just as a heads up.

El Paseo is beautiful to look at. I wanted to love this place. We sat outside on a wonderful fall evening admiring the surroundings. Unfortunately the service does not meet the expectations -- and the pricey food does not rise to the occasion. We ordered a hamburger medium and a salmon dinner. After 25 minutes, the waiter brought two hamburgers... More

This Mill Valley restaurant exudes the feeling of an intimate French eatery found in those hidden alley ways in Paris. The setting is quaint, the atmosphere romantic, the food and wine good and not pretentious. A couples dining hide away. Great for a quiet date! A little pricey, but considering the whole experience, worth it for an enjoyable evening with... More
