Description: Vasco restaurant is a small neighborhood tratoria with a simple elegant, atmosphere. The walls and ceiling are reclaimed wood from sustainable forest and the dining area sits between the imported Italian wood burning pizza oven and the Bar. The menu features fresh produce from local markets and food prepared simply only using the freshest of ingredients. Although prices are extremely reasonable, (entrees from 12.50 to 18.50) the menu offers enough selection for everyone and remains a hit with children who often split pasta's or Pizza's. Vasco remains an affordable choice where family's like to visit whenever they just don't feel like cooking or would like to relax and be pampered.

Vasco is not an Italian restaurant. We live a part of the year in Southern Europe and frequent Italy. There is almost nothing true Italian in this home town restaurant. Bruschetta comes in limp toast form. Some are very well toasted and some are falling apart in the middle and there are no Olive Oil and Vinegar on the table!!!!!... More

Vasco is located on a prominent corner in the little village of Mill Valley. We stopped for an early dinner before catching a movie around the corner. There were only a few other diners when we arrived, but the bar was almost full and the bartender seemed to know everyone. The exposed brick walls and open-fire brick oven gave the... More

I'm a practicing chef and I can say truthfully that Vascos Cabonara is as good as mine if not better. Those who know me know that this is quite a statement coming from me. I always ask for extra sause. I like my pasta etc. swimming in sauce. Did I mention I need to lose weight. lol Don't get to... More

In a town of lots of restaurants, this is a standard favorite. You cannot go wrong, the price is right and the service is good most nights. This night however, a new waitress was helping and not quite up to snuff so to speak, got a few things confused. None the less, you cannot go wrong and the ambiance is... More

Always crowded with the familiar suspects. I love the atmosphere and the food. I have eaten here at least 50 times over the years. I have never had a bad meal

Vasco is our home restaurant and watering hole as well. It's in the middle of town, corner of Throckmorton and Miller, and has the best food for the best price and an excellent selection of wines and spirits. The food, particularly the roasted beet salad (with a hidden pesto surprise), and the seafood stew, are unrivaled anywhere in Northern California,... More

I am a local so really enjoy going to Vasco with friends because on any given night you'll run into plenty of other locals. The place is smallish so it has a nice buzz in the ambiance. Oh yes, and the food is not bad, either.

No bells and whistles. The food is decent and the service a little odd. The wait staff always seems to be rushed and in a bit of a bad mood ... but not overwhelmingly so. They have live music often which can add a festive element to one's weekend outing. The prices are not outrageous. Do not sit close to... More
