Limited burger selection. Only spicy pickles, no mayo. Waiter was very chatty then never came back. Took my credit card before ever bringing a bill.

The food here is California fresh and very good, but the prices are somewhat high. We ordered the calamari off the appetizer menu, which was perfect for us. Dinners are about $25.

We sat outside and enjoyed a long conversation before the waitress ever came to get our dinner order. The wait was a bit much. The dinners were fine. Nothing that jumped and grabbed your palate - just your wallet. Go for the happy hour drinks.

There are lots of good restaurants in Mill Valley. I highly suggest that you go somewhere else!!! Last night's meal was problematic from the start. We had to ask five times to get olive oil for our bread. BTW: the bread was blah and boring and tasted liked cardboard. I never did get the ice that I requested for my... More

The food is fine (though they did complete blunder a dairy allergy but adding butter to the salmon even when it was specifically noted they should to) but also forgettable. Expensive and mediocre is the best way to describe it. Environment is loud and staff a bit intrusive. I'm not usually this challenging to please but Balboa Cafe is underwhelming.

We were so into our Racer 5's on tap we lost track of time and realized we need to get going to the airport, but needed something to eat too. So we ordered off the happy hour menu. Wish we hadn't...very disappointing. If I go back i will try the regular menu, the plates we saw looked decent.

We had a very nice lunch and great service. Fairly quiet even though it was almost full. Fair prices and adequate quantity.. Metered parking close by. Free parking along the street if you are lucky enough to find it. Well prepared and tasty entrees. Will return when in the area.

Stopped in for lunch on the Friday after Christmas. The joint was fairly packed but our party of 3 was promptly seated near the bar. Our waiter was very friendly and visited at just the right frequency. The beer selection was modest but adequate. The usual domestic and import suspects, and a few locals. All three of us were quite... More

My family and I visited Mill Vallley I early December and ate both lunch and dinner at Balboa. Good food for lunch...great soup... But best part was excellent and friendly server. He offered lots of good information outside of food advice. Dinner was nice. We needed a table for 8. Instead of saying "no way!" The hostess checked out the... More
