Great Lunch!

We had a very nice lunch and great service. Fairly quiet even though it was almost full. Fair prices and adequate quantity.. Metered parking close by. Free parking along the street if you are lucky enough to find it. Well prepared and tasty entrees. Will return when in the area.

The food is fine (though they did complete blunder a dairy allergy but adding butter to the salmon even when it was specifically noted they should to) but also forgettable. Expensive and mediocre is the best way to describe it. Environment is loud and staff a bit intrusive. I'm not usually this challenging to please but Balboa Cafe is underwhelming.

We were so into our Racer 5's on tap we lost track of time and realized we need to get going to the airport, but needed something to eat too. So we ordered off the happy hour menu. Wish we hadn't...very disappointing. If I go back i will try the regular menu, the plates we saw looked decent.

Stopped in for lunch on the Friday after Christmas. The joint was fairly packed but our party of 3 was promptly seated near the bar. Our waiter was very friendly and visited at just the right frequency. The beer selection was modest but adequate. The usual domestic and import suspects, and a few locals. All three of us were quite... More

My family and I visited Mill Vallley I early December and ate both lunch and dinner at Balboa. Good food for lunch...great soup... But best part was excellent and friendly server. He offered lots of good information outside of food advice. Dinner was nice. We needed a table for 8. Instead of saying "no way!" The hostess checked out the... More

The food is great. The service is excellent. I prefer the waiter Mark, who is always so friendly and makes the meal that much more fun. He remembers my family when we come in and always goes out of his way to say at least a few words, even if we are not in his station. I also particularly enjoy... More

Food is fine, but nothing too special. Pretty people, so good for those inclined to people watch! Gets LOUD at happy hour time! Nice little outdoor seating area when weather permits. Accepts Open Table reservations. BRUNCH is a good bet here!

This French/Italian style bistro, serves classic American cuisine and you won't be disappointed. Balboa Cafe have notable wine list, the quality of the food was good and the calamari was amazing! Nice place for a "Pit Stop" if you are exploring the Marin County.

I'm glad we have Balboa Cafe in Mill Valley. It just provides a consistently good place for an easy dinner, or quick bite after a movie. It may be a little pricey for some, but the burger is always good, and it's a good value. There's always a ball game playing on the TVs over the bar, and you almost... More

Discovered this restaurant with our Mill Valley friends and had a very nice time. Good service, excellent food. Attentive staff, very good menu. Would return regularly if it was nearer London
