Just had a very disappointing meal. When I ordered, anything I requested that varied slightly from the menu was not possible. When the food arrived, my salad nicoise was very mediocre: microwaved new potatoes, wilted salad, over boiled eggs with graying yolks, over cooked tuna like shoe leather. The waitress did come to ask how the meal was and I... More

My friends and i went for a morning coffee and toast as we fancied somewhere to sit in the sun but the sea. The toast was cheap, thin, white bread smothered with margarine! My friend said to a member of staff that she would like butter please to which he replied "we haven't got any, you'll have to have soft... More

Sunday lunch, the worst ever, roast pork, tasteless, served with lashings of floury beef ? gravy, disc's of hard pastry they called Yorkshire pudding, stewed watery cabbage, soggy broccoli and a few slivers of over cooked carrot. I am not a fussy eater ten years a sea taught me not to be. That meal was diabolical. I realize that this... More

very average experience. Stopped there Sunday morning for a hot drink and a snack with my wife and elderly in-laws. Nice day, so outside terrace was pretty full. Inside was quiet, and a little warmer. No welcome from staff, it was find your own table, find a menu, order at bar! We ordered 4 snacks and teas and coffee. Two... More

Absolutely diabolical!! Dont touch it with a bargepole. Rude barman. Told food would take 40 minutes, took 1 hour 20 minutes!! And NOT on a particularly busy day. Plus people who came in AFTER us were served (and finished) their whole meal before we got ours. Then when food did arrive, was totally unpleasant. My steak was as tough as old... More

What was called "The Pier and the Pebble" on Penarth's Victorian Esplanade and which was run by the former Mediterraneo Restaurant next door has now changed hands . Now re-branded as "The Pier Hotel" it has one of the best sea-viewers in Penarth . The restaurant has been revamped but has not yet fully settled down in terms of cuisine... More

Went here for lunch on a sunny Saturday. Menu looked a bit boring, but with the great sea view we thought we would give it a whirl. FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. The bread for the sandwiches was dry and felt like it had been cut 6 hours earlier (how can you get a sandwich wrong?!). The chicken pasta had a supposed... More

A prime esplanade location with panoramic views of the Sea Firstly, the presentation of the restaurant, as you enter, you are confronted with a good view of a messy bin store area, the front gates should be shut and the Biffa bins screened That's the first impression you get and is enough to make drop in customer walk by Inside... Food was okay attention to detail was lacking kept having to ask for cutlery napkins even our starters...... It wasn't the best and wouldn't go again pity as the restaurant could be fabulous and the setting was... More
