Shockingly tasty!

We went the day after Thanksgiving. It wasn't crowded at all. Checked out the Carvers Café and were surprised by the menu. A couple of us had buffalo burgers and the rest had the chicken with sides. My husband thought the burger was fine, but we all loved the chicken. Tender, juicy with great... read more

We just ate at Carvers Cafe at the bottom of Mount Rushmore. The food was very good. We are gluten free and their menu offers some gluten free choices. The staff was very accommodating to our needs and the food came out great. But the best was when a member of their staff overheard that it was my wife's and... More

We visited Mt. Rushmore in the off-season of January when we were lucky enough to have a few days off work and a warm spell. The entire town of Keystone was a ghost town and luckily Carver's Cafe was open at the National Park. We were forced to eat here out of necessity and lack of other choices. Unfortunately the... We ordered the bison burger seemingly getting a somewhat healthy meal, but afterward, to our horror, we watched as the guy was putting on a new batch of meat (our patties were already cooked when we got there so we didn't see the cooking process. Not sure if this is common practice or not). He literally used a half can... More

Now this is National Park food, so don't get crazy here. But for what I expected, this place far exceeded. Try the buffalo burger and a sample of Thomas Jefferson's own Ice Cream recipe.

Decent food served with a smile from a multitude of cafeteria-style stations. Walk around to look at them all, or risk being disappointed by your first choice. Beer and wine is available for the grown-ups and there's a nice ice cream stand next door for the kids. There are some tables with some very nice views. The tables without the... More

You can find anything to eat here that you want, but we wished we had waited and just had a grilled hot dog outside. Not to take anything away from the cafe, but the lines were long, the food was very good but expensive and they were out of a few things by the time our group got there. The... More

There is a very simple menu that includes burgers and fries. They also had BBQ sandwich special, a chicken sandwich, and hot dogs. The food was fine, no real complaints, just not a lot of variety.

Eat among all the flags of the 50 states, pictures of presidents, and some of the best buffalo stew I've ever tried, Grab an ice cream or even a personal bottle of wine! Seriously, this is a fun, funky cafe full of history, a dash of kitsch, and taste-bud worthy faire for a memorial cafe. I'd recommend, and have been... More

Mt. Rushmore has made an amazing national monument that everyone should go see. It's spectacular. They have a full service cafeteria on site which is very nice inside with huge glass windows that look upon Rushmore and an outdoor patio which is quite scenic. The food is so-so. Nothing great. If you could bring food and sit outside, you'd like... More
