Great Ice Cream - a little pricey

My kids love to get Mt. Rushmore Ice Cream. A good sized cone or a cup of ice cream is $4.50. A waffle cone is $5.50.

Arrived as part of a party of 42 booked in for breakfast. Staff totally unprepared led to long wait on a fixed time visit to Mount Rushmore. Strange rules for cooked breakfast, you can have 2 sausage or 2 rashers of bacon but not one of each. Would skip breakfast if given the choice in the future.

The Cafe is very large, so there's usually some seats available. The food is quite good, and there is a substantial selection…nutritious meals, and "junk food". You can see the Monument from your seat thanks to a large glass wall. This was very helpful when we came for the lighting ceremony and it was raining! They have clean restrooms and... More

We decided to go to the Mountain later in the day, and we were not disapponted. We grabbed a burger, which was good and not really overpriced, and ate with an excellant view of the carving.

Little pricey but the burgers were large and very good. Service was great and fast. Hard to park but worth the effort.

While at Mount Rushmore, we grabbed dinner at the (name). Now, I have had some excellent meals within the national parks but this was not one of them. We ordered the Buffalo burger with mushrooms as well as the “famous” bison stew. Now, I have had bison before on several occasions – it is nice, lean meat that is a... More

The food at the restaurant is good/average for a place of its kind. It served hamburgers, Bison burgers, chicken strips, fries, etc. It was nice to have lunch available while we visited the site. There is a large area for seating but seating was at premium while we were there. We ate outside, which is OK if you find some... More

Although this is a big place, it never felt crowded. The grill is the first station and we each got buffalo franks. New for me. Very tasty. My husband had cheese on his and it was only 1 slice which didn't do much for each end - but he liked it and it was only 50 cents. They have beer... More

3 Cheese pizzas and a Bison Burger with 2 frozen yogurts and NO drinks set you back $46. That in itself would leave a bitter taste in your mouth, but then you actually have to eat what is procured from beneath the heat lamps. This is where it goes from bad to worse. The pizza crust was nearly inedible and... More

My husband and I travelled 11 hours in an attempt to get to Mt. Rushmore before closing. We bypassed dinner with the knowledge that food would be available at the monument. Carvers was a cafeteri-style restaurant that served basic burgers, chicken strips and fries. They had a grill that wasn't open when were there. Over all it was average at... More
