We were visiting Mount Rushmore Monument so we arrived in the early evening. We had plans to stay for the special lighting ceremony so we were there during the dinner hour. We had reservations at Carver's restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was immaculate and the food was served cafeteria style. There were several options. I chose the Yankee Pot Roast... More

Visiting "the men on the mountain" for 3 hours and decided to have lunch. A non-busy Thursday afternoon. The food was fresh, plentiful, and great variety of full meals, soup, chili, or grilled sandwiches. The tables are large and while there were only 2 of us we were joined by 2 others and had nice time chatting about travels. Prices... More

Need a late snack while at Mt Rushmore. The grab a bit because once back into Keystone places shut down by 9PM. A bit pricey if you ask me but while waiting for the lightning ceremony it's ok. The food is good and the facility very clean. The is more then enough seating area so that you wont feel like... More

We were coming to the lighting ceremony and thought that we would get a bite to eat at the memorial. The food was not the best that we have tasted, but not the worst either. The staff appeared unfriendly (no smiles). I would suggest that if you wanted to eat prior to the ceremony, do so in one of the... More

Based on previous visits to Mount Rushmore Monument I was relectant to eat at the Carvers Cafe. However, since I arrived there very early in the morning to shoot sunrise photo;s, I was very hungry by 9:00 a.m and decided to at least get something to eat here. I elected to try the "Monumental Breakfast" which was offered at $5.99.... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor regarding your recent visit to Carvers Cafe. I became somewhat discouraged after reading about your experience at this restaurant. A dried up burger, worse than a fast food restaurant is certainly not the type of sentiment we wish to create here. My staff should have been more attentive... More

We have visited Mt. Rushmore Ntl. Memorial several times over the past 20 years and since the new facilities were built in the 90's we have dined at Carvers Cafe each time for both lunch and dinner. On all visits we have found the food and service to be much better than expected for a cafeteria-style restaurant run by a... More

I didn't want to eat here, my experience with buffet style foods, left out over a period of time, has not been good, but hub wanted to try a buffalo burger. I got a hamburger thinking how much could they mess up that. Well the bun was hard and stale, nasty. Hub also wasn't impressed with his buffalo burger. Servers... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor regarding your recent visit to Carvers Cafe. I was disappointed to read about your experience. The presentation, quality and freshness of your meals was discouraging to say the least. The condiment situation you described is not only upsetting, but unsanitary. Please rest assured that I will address these... More

Very committed staff. I lost my camera and they kept it safely and returned it even after closing time. Pictures of all 44 presidents with tags makes it interesting even while dining. Options were varied and mostly american. food was above average to good. Outside seating with view of Mt. Rushmore available.

It by far surpasses many other eateries in other national parks or monument sites, from the breakfast buffet to the bison chili to the soft-serve ice cream, the food is well-prepared and decently priced. The outdoor seating is nice, too, if it isn't too humid :)
