Two of us had the set lunch on a wet weekday. Watercress soup was okay but I did wonder if it was not quite fresh, accompanying bread stale . Great omelette for mains. Apricot tart stale, it was cracking (as in cracked on top, not cracking as in marvellous) for which I think I somehow got "conned" into paying extra.... More

We were a party of 6 including my 90 year old mother having a late Sunday lunch. Service excellent despite them being very busy. Food as usual was very good. I was sorry to see that this branch is to close, so no real point in commenting further. Just hope the excellent staff are retained by Carluccio's.

I found myself in the area and stopped for a bite, polite service, nice warm welcome. I had a late, scrambled eggs and toast. My late was hot but my toast could have been a little more toasted for my liking and my scrambled eggs were just ok. If I was in the area I would visit again.

Called in for a breakfast on a Sunday. Served by a very polite and friendly guy called Wally. The full English Breakfast was lovely. Nicely cooked and well presented. Part way through, Wally approached but not so close as to impose, politely asked us both if everything was ok. I was not only impressed with the breakfast but very impressed... More

Great customer service, a fairly extensive menu and reasonable prices located in the city centre, make this cafe a good choice.

Visited Cafe Rouge on Saturday at lunch time. We were shown to a table by a young man from Cote d'Ivoire/France who was very attentive and efficient. I noticed that the menu was a lot smaller than on previous visits to various Cafe Rouge that we have visited. We both ordered from the fixed price menu. For starter we had... More

Well, despite the reviews and one bad experience a long time ago (when it had first opened in Stortford) the two of us decided to go into Café Rouge for breakfast, since it appeared to be the only café/restaurant open around 10am. Obviously, it wasn't busy at all and I think the problem with a lot of restaurants, with regard... More

Cafe Rogue is amazing. I love the feel and ambience. However when someone orders a Rare steak there should be blood left in the steak and it should probably not look like it as been burnt within a inch of its life. But I was hungry so I didn't send it back.
