Visited Cafe Rouge on Saturday at lunch time. We were shown to a table by a young man from Cote d'Ivoire/France who was very attentive and efficient. I noticed that the menu was a lot smaller than on previous visits to various Cafe Rouge that we have visited. We both ordered from the fixed price menu. For starter we had... More

Well, despite the reviews and one bad experience a long time ago (when it had first opened in Stortford) the two of us decided to go into Café Rouge for breakfast, since it appeared to be the only café/restaurant open around 10am. Obviously, it wasn't busy at all and I think the problem with a lot of restaurants, with regard... More

Cafe Rogue is amazing. I love the feel and ambience. However when someone orders a Rare steak there should be blood left in the steak and it should probably not look like it as been burnt within a inch of its life. But I was hungry so I didn't send it back.

Our daughter talked us into going here, and she's still apologising for it to this day.the place looks shaby,as do the staff and the food is apalling... I cannot believe a restaurant so poor is still open for business. One to avoid

We have dined here on several occasions. The staff have, without fail, always been attentive to our every need without being a nuisance. The garlic prawns are awesome and they keep sending me vouchers for free/discounts etc. just gotta go back soon.

Six adults had lunch on Sunday. All disappointed. Between us had several things from the menu so got a good view of what was on offer, none was anything to wrtie home about. Food was poor standard. Chicken 1/2 and chips was pretty medicore piece of dry chiken. Worst Cafe Rouge we had been to (used Cafe Rouge in Exeter... More

Midweek lunch with my son and grandchildren, age 7 & 9. Was quiet as state schools have not broken up for the Easter holidays as yet but ambiance was still good. Was very impressed with the childrens' menu which unlike most eateries is not confined to pizza, pasta and bangers and mash and included dishes such as salmon. The children's... More

I had fish goujons and their burger. Goujons had been left in the fryer too long and had gone dark brown. Burger was on a stale brioche. I didn't complain (so I can't hold them too accountable for the bad food) and the rest of my group enjoyed theirs so I award it 4 stars. Service was lovely. Restaurant was... More
