Went for lunch on Monday the 11th of August, it was quiet in the restaurant and seated fairly quickly, our drinks order was taken and took an age to arrive, the waitress came to take our food order and didn't know what the soup of the day was, she went and found out and finished taking our order. Starter arrived... More

Half way between Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth it is just off the main road at Spellbrook. There is plenty of room to park but It is not clearly signposted so you need to know it is there! It has a friendly atmosphere and an ideal stop off for families on a fine summers day. There is outside seating and a... More

Had pork belly but hardly any pork mainly fat on a bed of supposed to be mash but was definitely instant potato so very disappointing for a £12 meal. Service slow and very impolite. When mentioned to the waitress that we thought it was instant mash she said she would check with the chef but didn't bother coming back which... More

My husband and I chose a sharing platter and a baked Camembert to share. Very well presented and plenty of variety - a good supper choice if you're hungry but fancy something different. The pub was very busy when we went - 8 o'clock on a Friday night. We queued for quite a while to place our order and buy... More

I have been to this pub to celebrate a birthday, it's fantastic! Lovely place! with the possibility of also tables outside, great food, excellent service, and I recommend their lemon cheesecake tasted anything as good! I can not wait to go back!

A standard Chef & Brewer pub with tasty food and the outside seating area was pleasent but the wait for both the starter and the main course spolied the experience. There appeared to be just one person serving and the number of customers greatly outweighed his ability to keep up however hard he tries.
