Just for the beer

Local's and visitors in equal amounts provide a welcoming atmosphere. The passing food looks good and judging by dinners comments is well appreciated and constantly on the go throughout the early evening - which was the regular timing for our a few pints of lovely Cornish best!

A confusing establishment for dining. When one first enters the pub,it is warm and inviting, with equally accomodating staff. The bar snacks looked quite appetizing and the ambience was cosy. We had pre booked and had been allocated a table in their upstairs restaurant, this lacked lustre and was devoid of character,a complete contrast to the pub downstairs.I had a sea food... More

We were staying at Merrose Caravan Site and wanted a roast meal. We called here and we were very impressed with the meal, service and friendliness of the staff. Would recommend it.

Had a couple of welcome cool ciders here and found the bar staff very friendly and chatty. Felt relaxed and welcome. Not tried the food yet but the smells wafting through were enticing. I would recommend and will certainly be returning.

We stopped in here for some liquid refreshment towards the end of a long day's walking from Mawnan Smith on a wonderful sunny day. We still had a mile to go to reach our overnight stop, so the Cornish Best was much appreciated. The pub is very smart and the beer had clearly been well cared for, so I just... More

Great little pub for a spot of lunch. Small but perfectly formed. Everyone enjoyed the roast and my steak and mushroom pie was very tasty too. My one year old daughter loved her 'mini' roast which was great value for money. We couldn't squeeze in pudding but those looked delicious too. A good find and highly recommended.

We have been coming to Portacatho and rose land area for nearly ten years now. The pub used to have a great homely atmosphere, you felt at home when you waled in, the bar staff remembered you and served quickly, the food was a tad mixed at times, but the lunch menus of baked potatoes and sandwiches were great and... I am not the biggest fan of pub grub, but as the Plume was the only place open on Monday we decided to give it a go. Our son had the Spag Bol off the menu which he ate a healthy portion of, my wife had the Sea Bass off the specials board, whilst I had Ham Egg and Chips.... More

We walked to this pub when we stayed at the Driftwood. It is a great local pub with a good country feel. We went on a Sunday and it was packed! I had the traditional Roast Beef meal and it was so good. Loved the yorkshire pudding. The only thing I did not like was that the service for drinks... More
