We are a 17th century traditional Cornish coastal pub, offering hand pull beers and great food. Colin & Paul Marriott, yes twins, you're not seeing double, took over the Plume from Graham Thomas in October 2013 after Grahams mighty 35 year reign and are indebted to him for his grace and support. His legacy of a friendly welcoming pub continues to be paramount. We are building a great team here at the Plume. With the refurbished 'Upper Deck' Dining room for relaxed dining and private functions

At Last!

Some time ago I wrote a review of this pub entitled "All Change but No Change" in which I strongly criticised this pub for it's food - not anything else though. From our apartment we were able to walk to the pub so no driving issues. The young people who run the pub are cheerful, helpful and enthusiastic in everything they do. With a mixture of locals and visitors and nearly always lively the atmosphere is perfect. The food and service are brilliant with a good menu .

We visited this restaurant twice in a week, whilst holidaying in the area. A good and varied menu, mostly local produce well cooked and served in a warm and friendly atmosphere, all in a delightful coastal village. Staff were excellent both in service and attitude. Cask Marque beer and all this too! We shall be back.

Following a walk from Carne to Portscatho, we had a very enjoyable meal here.Atmosphere friendly and a proper pub with choice of beer and local produce. Nothing fancy but very satisfying.

Expect a very large portion! pleasant staff and great Cornish Ale on tap. Just off the coastal path and a welcome treat for a tired traveler.

We stayed in the area for four nights and ate here every evening as there weren't a lot of eating places in the area. Very crowded on Saturday evening but they managed to fit us in. Brilliant atmosphere, good menu (not really very extensive but adequate with specials). The food was excellent, service very good and staff very welcoming. The... More

We went there for a lunchtime snack. Sandwiches very expensive and very ordinary. (cheese & pickle £7, crab £9). Coffee very poor couldn't drink it, beer ok, but its a St Austell house.

This is a really nice pub with a nice atmosphere. For us beer drinkers they have 'Proper Job' on draft which I enjoyed. The food was OK and I would have little hesitation in trying it again although for one of us the meal was disappoining. I thought the service was exceptionally good for a busy pub restaurant.

What a lovely pub this is. We booked for Sunday dinner and were given a choice of Beef, lamb or pork. You could have two meats or could have all three. I had pork with crackling and lamb. The portions were generous and a boat of extra gravy was supplied. For afters we both had rum and raisin cheese cake,... More

We stopped there for lunch after the walk around St. Antony. Great food. Fresh Vegetable Lasagna and a good Greek Salad. Very friendly staff, as we came almost past lunch time :)
