Good Honest Grub Great Value

Liked the menu, the food (tastiest quiche ever, very tasty cottage pie), the local Beer, the Wine, the service, the speed, the prices & the friendly staff. Nothing to dislike all good.

A welcoming, friendly bistro with an extensive menu which includes reasonably priced, value for money dressed crab. For those of us who do not share the love of fish there is a varied selection of alternative dishes all equally reasonably priced. All the food is freshly prepared, well presented, with the well-sized portions being hot and tasty. Along with a... More

We ate here on all three nights of our recent stay in Cromer for the annual 'Folk on the Pier' festival. The food, service and value for money were second to none as usual. Many thanks to Sam and the team - see you next year!

A different "feel" from the standard seaside cafes, worth seeking out for its range of home-cooked food

We are frequent visitors to the Bistro when we stay in Cromer and was very pleased to be in Cromer for the folk and food evening. The food was very good( as usual) and the folk music & comedy was very good well worth the money for a 1st class evening

I reserved a table and a crab in the bistro a few days before we were due to arrive. This was done via email. The staff in the bistro were very friendly and the crab was as good as we were expecting. If you are going to Cromer, call in here, you won't be disappointed.

I visited with my sons over the Easter holidays for lunch. I decided to pick the quiche which I did enjoy but I did feel the piece could have been larger for the price. My son picked the home made sausage roll which was a fat sausage filling which he thoroughly enjoyed, It was nice to see that it was... More

Having just sat down from this afternoon's round of sausage roll production (just a quick 100 or so) it's really nice to see that these are going down as well as ever! The sausage rolls even have their own page on our website now such is their popularity. There's no real secret to them just excellent quality ingredient from out... More

I would highly recommend the Old Rock Shop Bistro if you are ever visiting Cromer. It is often said that if the locals use a place then it must be good because when all the holidaymakers are gone….what then? Always a friendly smile on arrival and departure. Whilst the menu is not extensive it is not pretentious and does what... More

Saw that the had crab, on their A-board outside the café, as we walked past, so decided we couldn't visit Cromer without having some crab. Simple unfussy décor, a good cup of tea and a lovely crab baguette. Brought back childhood memories as I haven't eaten crab for years. Would be happy to revisit if we're ever back in Cromer.

Glad to see we were able to bring back those memories for you! If you need a top up you'll find Fresh Cromer Crab on the menu everyday that we're able to (obviously it can depend on the weather conditions, they need to be able to get the boats out!). Thanks for a lovely review, we look forward to seeing... More

Just how a cafe should be. Decent quality ingredients made into unfussy but tasty dishes. Baked potato was good and the cheese actually tasted cheesy, and our crab platters were spot on, fresh and not drowned in mayo in the case of my granary sandwich. Add good service, clean premises and lovely home made cakes, and there isn't much not... More
