Helpful staff who are knowledgeable about their menu, and know how to cook. Every time we have been here the steaks have been tender and perfectly cooked, as were the fish. Worth keeping on the list of places to eat.

It was some time ago I went here, thoroughly enjoyed it,have wanted to return but no one seems to answer the phone when I ring, never the less, will go again but have been put off simply because it,s quite a way for me to travel and have been unable to book by phone.

We have dined here at lunchtimes many times and the food never disappoints. In fact, I think they give you far too much food !!! The menu del dia with wine is great value. I love the spicy Thai mussels in coconut milk for starters and always enjoy the oxtail stew. I never have room for a dessert though as... More

Having not been there for some time and with friends out from the UK, we decided to give it another go. Despite phoning earlier in the afternoon, they had no record of our booking. We thus had to sit out on the terrace. Food was mediocre, lacklustre and overpriced. It will be a long time until our next visit (if... More

Still one of the best in Javea. No mussels on menu this time but Beef Stew starter more than made up for it. Only downer for me is compulsory smelly cheese and chilli sauces, poured over potatoes. Must try to remember to have them deleted on next visit.

Whilst we have been to El Gaucho's sister restaurent, Pepa's many times this was the first visit to El Gaucho, prompted by our eldest son who, having finished his AS exams was desperate for a juicy steak on his holiday. We weren't disappointed as the welcome was polite and friendly as we expected and we were seated at a nice... More

Highly recommend trying el gaucho if you've never been before! We had an amazing meal, and for the steak eaters they said it was the best steak they had ever tasted! I had lamb chops and they were honestly the best lamp chops I have ever eaten, all meat is cooked over a massive open fire, my starter was chorizo... More
