I've been to this restaurant twice over the years and both times I was completely underwhelmed, both by the quality of the food and the service. Food is bland and a little overpriced for the quality. Perhaps they need to ditch the white table clothes and cook like they were cooking for family instead of for bland American palettes.

Have eatwn here many times and have to say this was the worse lunch ever! We were seated right away but our server did not acknowledge us for 5 minutes. Aaked for a wine list and waited another5 minutes for it to be delivered. Waited several more minutes for him to return to take our order. This was really not... More

Cacique serves Mexican and Spanish food so delicious that it is nearly reason enough to visit Frederick. Service is friendly, beautiful decor, and the mussels and lomo are to die for!! Liked everything about my three dinners here.

I was really hoping for more, the staff was nice, but the food really did not meet my expectations. The guac was just okay, would have been nice if tghey prepared at your table so you know it is fresh. Chips were so light that you could not did in guac, or salsa - they break. Drinks did not taste... More

There are a ton of restaurants in downtown Frederick, so I had high expectations when a local shop owner said that Caciques was the "best Mexican restaurant" in town. I could eat guacamole as a meal, so I was also hoping for some great guac. It was ok, but nothing special. What was really disappointing was that the bottom of... More

It has been a couple of years since we have dined here and we did not notice any difference. The service was fast, efficient and the food was superb. We had the Spinach Enchiladas as well as Chiles Rellenos. Really wish they would transport this restaurant down to Myrtle Beach.

So, we finally got a nice evening to head downtown for a side walk dinner. Cacique is one of the few Frederick Downtown restaurants that provides seating outside. We always are satisfied with the meal prepared here, the food is freshly made and is authentic Mexican/Spanish fare. We will always return here, especially now that the weather permits us to... More

Good: Spinach Enchiladas are simply the best I've ever had; great Gambas Al Ajillo; their mango margaritas are divine, but pricey. Bad: Not much except the prices of some things. Ugly: The prices of their drinks off happy hour is REALLY pricey.

If you're looking for good mexican food in the downtown area, Cacique has all the usual options. The restaurant is quite large and has a lively bar area. Food tastes pretty good, and they have a cheese dip that is really tasty.

We've dined at Cacique on visits to Frederick a few years ago and liked it, chose it this visit because we've tried a few other local places (all great) and believe the general Frederick restaurant scene is improving. My wife is Spanish and had liked their Spanish cuisine. Excellent sangria, much better than that served by a tapas bar a... More
