Consistently Delicious

The food is always spot on. Staff is attentive without being pretentious. Our favorite place for special occasions. I usually go for whatever fish is on special, but the steaks are always good as well. The crab cakes are my wife's favorite in Frederick. The atmosphere is lively and the room can be... read more

Food is always good. Lobster Bisque is VERY rich and full of lobster, filet mignon is tasty, foie gras is excellent when on the menu, scallops are very good as well and the specials are fresh and delicious. Some of the servers are not trained in service for fine dining, and on a few occasions we were pushed out because... More

I have eaten at the Tasting Room several times, and every meal has been excellent. Their filet mignon is perhaps the best that I have ever had (and I live in Chicago), and the duck is also excellent. Very good wine list with quite a number of interesting bottles. Service is also excellent -- attentive without being overbearing. You can... More

This classy restaurant and bar in downtown Frederick , Maryland is a fun place to go especially if you like different kinds of martinis. However be advised that this establishment is very pricey, so be prepared to spend some big bucks. It is located near all the shops and other fine restaurants too which is convenient.

I visit The Tasting Room fairly frequently. This past visit was for a friend's birthday and they nailed it again. (I had literally just been there the night before.) The food is always good, drinks are delicious and service matches. I know that if I need a night out with great food, I can count on Tasting Room.

While other chefs may get more attention Frederick' own Michael Tauraso has earned his stripes with consistent and creative food. He basically founded the finer dining scene in Frederick and for over 10 years he has set the bar for consistently good food, good wine and great service. It is a cool place to see and be seen. The menu... More

The Tasting Room has some if the most delicious food I have ever eaten. The filet mignon is the finest I have had and my family agrees, much better than the high-end chains in the big cities. All of the other food we've eaten there is incredibly good. The lobster mashed potatoes are amazing but filling. The menu changes frequently,... More

Went here for a romantic night out. I had the steak which was ordered as medium but came out well done. The food was over priced for the quality. Go to Volt.

Eaten here many tmes, particularly for lunch. Great food, terrific service every time. Notables: lobster bisque is fantastic but rich! Nice chunks of lobster on top. Steak salad is fantastic. Best I've had. Grilled salmon, shrimp and grits, filet, and local beef cheeseburger all terrific.

Without a doubt, the Filet at The Tasting Room is one of if not the best I have had. The quality of the meal and presentation is top notch and never fails to please. Though a bit noisy, it seems to disappear as one settles in and is distracted by the great service and top notch preparation, and presentation of... More
