Not quiet, but good food

We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was less than half full. Despite that, it was very noisy. Not good for quiet conversation. But the food was great and the waiter's recommendations excellent. My husband had the duck main course and didn't even give me a bite, it was that good. I had... read more

Four of us made a return trip to the Tasting Room after a 5 year absence, not knowing what to expect but hoping to find the same wonderful restaurant we remembered. We were not disappointed. A true test of a restaurant is often when things don't go perfectly. We had such a test the night we were there. While all... More

During our visit to friends in Frederick, we had the pleasure of having dinner at TR. We arrived a little early and made our way to the bar - a little crowded but the staff was fast and friendly. Once our table was ready we were seated. Our friends told us that TR was famous for their Filet Mignon -... More

I have been hearing about how wonderful The Tasting Room is from friends, so when my husband asked where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner, I suggested it. It was the BEST decision I could have made! We made reservations, since it was a Saturday night, and we arrived on time at 6:30 -- we wondered if we... More

This is a quaint restaurant in the heart of downtown Frederick. The waitress was very pleasant. The starters were delicious. We had foi gras and the bacon. Lordy that bacon was delicious! For meals we had the scallops, duck, and rack of lamb. All were very good but the lamb was the best. The spices and flavor was superb. The... More

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Very good cauliflower soup and tasty house salad. The crispy chicken sandwich was delicious as were the salmon cakes. The chocolate sorbet was yummy...better than the mango ice cream. We will be back.

I have been to this restaurant several times. Each time, I was fortunate to be in the private room in the back. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The food selection is good, and the food has always been fresh, hot, and tasted great. This restaurant does not disappoint!

I have enjoyed The Tasting Room for lunch too many times to count and quite a few dinners. Last weekend I returned for dinner with a friend and we will not be back. I had been daydreaming of the mega pork chop with bacon and apples, more like a pork "steak" it was to die for. When I phoned for... More

I have been here now several times for lunch and dinner; The service is always very good and the food selections fresh in terms of both availability and interest factor. They have some very solid items that are always on the menu in terms of salads, and a great lobster bisque, a good wine collection and a nice range of... More

Make your reservations early as this seems to be a popular spot for residents. A bit pricey but a good choice for romantic dinner. The grilled cheese appetizer not to be missed - gooey and side of strawberry jam
