We've been here many times. Still an enjoyable place to hang out in downtown Frederick for cheese, foie gras and wine. Mixed crowd. Uneven service. Nice big city ambience in an otherwise bedroom suburbia town.

We happened to wander in here for dinner recently -- lucky us. I had one of the best lamb chop dishes ever! This paired very well with my glass of Malbec. The cost of the meal was towards the high side, but we were so pleased to try this place out. We would definitely go back!

We stopped in for a glass of wine and a snack and stayed on and on. The pate was delicious and the wait staff friendly as were the other patrons at the bar. It wuld be fun to repeat on another visit.

Don't be scared away by the professionalism & difficulty in getting a reservation. This is delightful food, great wine list etc. The charcuterie plate is a bargain and is enough for 3-4 to have a nice taste of all it's delights.

I've had lunch and dinner at TR many times. The service is always top notch. Although the restaurant is always busy, I've never felt rushed. The atmosphere is busy and loud at times. There are floor to ceiling windows on two sides of the restaurant. Great for people watching. That being said, its not dark and cozy-if that is what... More

My family (6 adults) went to the Tasting Room for my mom's birthday. I grew up in Frederick and none of us had ever been there. The food was spectacular and the service was great! For appetizers we had the Cheese Plate, Beef Carpacchio, Lobster Bisque, house salad and the apple salad. Everyone loved my Apple Salad and was jealous.... More

We had dinner last night. It was good but not memorable. Rack of lamb was only ok, the mussels were tasty, crab dip was fine, cioppino was good. I don't think we'll be back since there are so many other restaurants to try.

Advised by friends that the Tasting Room was superb...we soon learned that our friends were masters of understatement. We were taking our first overnight to Frederick, MD, and the whole day was RAIN. We arrived at lunch time, went downtown, found TTR, parked, fortuitously across the street at a meter and, blithely sauntered in as the rain had slackened. The... More

So, you want great food, check, great service, check, great drinks, check, quiet romantic atmosphere, no check, TR has it all but expect a loud party atmosphere. We will return for the food and drink and service. Maybe on a week night it will not be as crowded and noisy. I had the duck and my wife the cod. Both... More

I've discovered Tasting Room last year and have been frequenting the restaurant for lunch every couple of weeks since. I normally do not mind the pricey food, provided it is well prepared, well seasoned and every so often a real gem is offered for "specials". Lately, I have noticed a steep decline in the quality of food preparation. One time... More
