Came with colleague for lunch. We had salad, burger, salmon. Food was good, but the salad had only a few little pieces of tomatoes. Fish was served with peas.....server never told us what came with the meals. I think it is a nice little place......will come back.

It's often hyped up as stuffy but it really isnt. I will tell you I went after work in a shirt and tie and truly felt over dressed as there were people there in polos and jeans. My wife and I went there without the children and had a nice evening out. The food was great and they have an... More

Just ate here this evening and it was a great experience. For a Tuesday night, they were pretty crowded (good sign). I had the NY Strip steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli - great choice. Meat done to perfection, potatoes had really good taste. the wine that they suggested was a perfect match as well. Every leaf of the salad... More

I've been here a few times over the years, and have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic, to say the least. This time, we had the duck nachos, filet mignon, and bacon wrapped beef tenderloins. Everything cooked and flavored to perfection. And let me tell you about the drinks. I love a good Manhattan, and they never disappoint. Nice... More

The restaurant itself looks like a rustic cabin. There is nice outdoor seating, an indoor bar area and then seating in other rooms. It's not elegant by any means, but very comfortable. The menu definitely focuses on 'comfort food.' Fried chicken, pork chops, grilled shrimp....All were delicious and offered large portions. Private parties are accommodated in a screened off back... To celebrate a birthday we made reservations after reading Trip Advisor reviews. We actually sat outside despite the heat and the umbrellas and regular breeze made the experience pleasant. We ordered to share the duck nachos which were excellent and the portion was large enough for 3 of us to share. We ordered the flounder special, the jambalaya and the... More

Had lunch at Monacacy Crossing recently. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgable regarding how dishes were prepared. The scallops were recommended. They were fresh, tender and plentiful! The coconut cake was a perfect ending to the meal. Outside service is provided during the summer. There are two improvements that I would recommend----updating the decor, inside and out and paving... My fiancé and I stopped here for dinner to try a new place. We were greeted and seated in a timely and friendly manner. We were one of five tables in the restaurant amongst 3 servers. We we're provided drinks in an acceptable amount of time, as well as an overview of the specials. The service started out fine, standard.... More

Monocacy Crossing just missed my giving it an "excellent" rating, only because of the heavy handedness of the saltshaker used by the kitchen on several of the dishes that were brought to our table. I would expect more finesse from the kitchen of a Culinary Institute of America trained chef. However, don't let that stop you from enjoying a fine... More

Accidentally discovered this great dining establishment one lunchtime while driving to Frederick. Located in a quaint little roadside house, the kitchen proves to be one of the best options for mid priced gourmet dining in the Frederick area. Really delicious deserts as well. The bar is always busy as is the dining room so make reservations to avoid disappointment.
