My wife and I went there for a dinner date last week. The steak that I ordered was gristly, fatty, and rubbery. The potatoes were runny. My wife selected the salmon and it was overcooked and dry. I caught a glimpse of the cooks and they appeared young and inexperienced. I did not want to complain to our server because... more

We went for Mother's Day and the salad that I ordered tasted as though someone had poured sugar into the salad dressing. It was way sweeter than the coke that I was drinking. My dinner was the eggplant dish and it was loaded with salt. Also, for the prices, I think that they should serve you fountain cokes. Instead they... more

There is neither anything disappointing nor anything spectacular about this place. The wait staff wore jeans with shirts and ties... I expected something a little more formal than that at a restaurant in this price range... so keep that in mind. My date and I both had salads that nearly filled us up. Mine was the spicy almonds one, and... more

We have been going to Monocacy since the summer it opened. Originally the food was exciting and fresh american with an edge. The wait staff was crisp and the restaurant was clean. Over the last several years I can just describe it as "tired." Staff has turned over and if Rich is not in the kitchen, the food coming out... more

I have eaten here many times and I have always had high quality food and service. I love the charm of the place. It is nice to eat outside when the weather permits. I have already made Valentine's dinner reservations here for this year. more

I haven't had the pleasure of dinner at Monocacy crossing, but my wife and I stopped recently and had appetizers and a beer. The following week my son and I stopped in for lunch and a beer. My wife had Whiskey Duck Nachos with Black Beans and and I had an order of crab balls. Nothing short of incredible! When... more

After reading so many positive reviews, I thought that we would be in for a treat since we don't eat out oftern, we were very disappointed. Ordered popcorn shrimp as an appetizer, which had a strong fishy taste. We both ordered crab cake sandwich, which were average, nothing impressive and the french fries were overcooked to the point where they... more

Ate here on a saturday night recently. The food is pretty good; though some of the presentations are just odd (the "grilled" ceasar salad is literally a small head of romaine, pan seared until black on the outside then drizzled with dressing; not good). My wife got the filet mignon and I had the boulliabaise (?) and , again, pretty... more

Monocacy Crossing has provided good food and outstanding service on every visit. We prefer to sit outside when the weather is nice, rather than in the dining rooms, but the rooms are quite comfortable too. The menu is availible on the website and has changes seasonally. Our most memorable entrees were the tuna steaks, and the gnocci. more

We had lunch at Monocacy Crossing while passing through Frederick, MD on vacation. What a fantastic place. I had the Eggplant Napoleon which consisted of flash fried slices of eggplant layered with roasted red and yellow peppers, zucchini and mushrooms and garnished with a spicy marinara sauce. Delightful and flavorful! The homemade muscle and clam chowder was fresh and well... more
