We celebrated New Year's eve at this wonderful place. Our reservation time honored. ...for an appetizer we had the artichoke fondue. ..YUMMY! For dinner and dessert the vegetarian had the mushroom and spinach tagliatell and cream brulee pumpkin cheesecake....LOVED both....noodles tasted homemade. ...the meat eater had filet mignon and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. The place us unassuming with the... More

To be fair to the chef, we visited on a Sunday when the "B" team tends to be in charge of the kitchen. But on Sunday Monocracy Crossing offers all 3 of its menus - brunch, lunch or dinner - which gives a great chance to sample. Still, we have to grade this as "average" - measured by Frederick standards,... More

My wife and I took advantage of a travelzoo offer and had a fantastic evening and dining experience. The appetizer Blue Cheesecake was better than expected and appealed to my main requirement of a good restaurant - Dazzle me with dishes I cannot hope to make at home myself.. My wife ordered the Shrimp over Chedder Cheese Grits and it... More

I had not been to Monocacy Crossing for a couple of years, but made plans to meet a friend there for her birthday dinner. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Sunday, so early that there were few other parties. This made for a nice, private meal. Our server was named Sally, and she was really wonderful, pleasant and attentive. We ordered... More

Made reservations, and I expect that this is always wise. Arrived and were seated immediately and professionally. Menu and specials are unique without being silly. The presentation, quality and quantity of the food was perfect. Service was exceptional and faultless. We could not have had a better experience. Try the calamari!

We have had several enjoyable lunches here. The white linen table cloths and exceptional service belie the rough image of the outside. Food has always been well prepared and fairly priced. Service, especially from Ally has always been prompt, courteous and professional. We tend to eat here on somewhat special (or expense account) occasions, but only because it is as... More

My wife and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening to celebrate her birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was a great experience in every way. Making reservations was a breeze on Open Table. We were about 10 minutes late, and the restaurant was crowded, but they still had our table ready for us immediately. Our server was... More

We had a wonderful time: our server Kim was terrific and the food was fabulous. The resturant appears to occupy the ground floor of an old home; the layout is a bit awkward. The one dining room is very quant (I'd specifically ask for that room next time) and the other is pretty good. We started with their take on... More

The whole experience was excellent. We were able to sit outside and the wait staff was prompt and attentive. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations. We had the Sauteed Dry Sea Scallops with Shallot and Bacon Vinaigrette as the appetizer (outstanding). Our dinner entrees were the Garlic & Herb topped Beef Medallions wrapped with... More

Came with colleague for lunch. We had salad, burger, salmon. Food was good, but the salad had only a few little pieces of tomatoes. Fish was served with peas.....server never told us what came with the meals. I think it is a nice little place......will come back.
