Impressive and Memorable

Got a great deal through TravelZoo: dinner for two with wine for $65 (a savings of about $45.) Having experienced the great service and outstanding food, we'll gladly go back at full price. Try any of the appetizers and you'll see why some people rave about this place. For the main dish, I had... read more

Three of us visited for a late lunch on a cool midweek day. Had a wonderful Corned Beef Rueben with loads of corned beef, sandwiched with swiss cheese and sauerkraut on a home made Rye bread, served with fresh French fries. Yummy.. Great fresh coffee. Wonderful loaf of bread. Nice warm wood stove kept us war,/ great little place tucked... More

This was my second visit to Monocacy Crossing within the last year. Our first visit/experience was also a bit average as the female server was a bit rude and unpleasant, and the crab cakes were not jump lump, nor anything you'd particularly find in most Maryland restaurants. The second visit we had a decent, albeit flighty server, and I ordered... More

My wife had an appetizer new to us: blue cheesecake which was a hot fluffy blue cheese/cream cheese mixture served with crackers. It was excellent. I had a new favorite: the cheese tray. The cheese tray featured Gorgonzola Brulee, Peppered Goat Cheese and Irish Porter Grilled along with sweet pickles, strawberries and crackers. A ton of surprises for the palate.... More

Last night was my first visit to Monocacy Crossing and it won't be my last. The restaurant was cozy, the food was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive and very professional. The menu was diverse and interesting. I had the Dry Scallops, Beef Medallions, and Cinnamon Chiffon cake. All three were excellent. The beef was cooked to perfection -... More

Had dinner here. Quaint and cozy place but could have been a bit cleaner. Food was just okay but their portions are large! Service was fine. We probably won't go back just because there really is no reason to. Average.

Recently went in with a few friends. We sat at the bar.We shared several appetizers .The deviled egg topped with crab was to die for.The artichoke fondue with homemade pita was excellent. The wine offerings by the glass are described well and the staff cheerfully offer a tasting.Love Monocacy Crossing. ..like being with family.

Great food and great service. Every time we go here, we almost pass it by because it stands alone and looks like a house on a lonely road. Worth finding though😊

Our reservation was 7:30 Fri. night so they were very busy. We were seated immediately but quickly realized we would have to nearly shout to be able to communicate with each other. Our server even had to repeat the specials and move around the table so we could all hear. The food was great but what stands out most was... More

We celebrated New Year's eve at this wonderful place. Our reservation time honored. ...for an appetizer we had the artichoke fondue. ..YUMMY! For dinner and dessert the vegetarian had the mushroom and spinach tagliatell and cream brulee pumpkin cheesecake....LOVED both....noodles tasted homemade. ...the meat eater had filet mignon and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. The place us unassuming with the... More
