I eat all over the world, in high end and low end places. The food was average, somewhat bland. I will lower my expectations when visiting this area.

This is one of the best restaurants we have been too. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is Very quaint and cozy. We have not had bad service at this restaurant ever.. They get busy, but the wait staff seems to handle it very well. We have come as a couple and for family dinners, always great! You... More

This is the place to go in Frederick! There's not a friendlier restaurant in town. The food is fabulous! Also really big portions. The rolls and the desserts are made fresh daily, as are the majority of the entrees. Some of the best seafood around! If you leave here hungry it's your own fault!!! They have a full bar, wonderful... More

If you are looking for a decent meal at a reasonable price, then this may be the place. We have been there many times, Sometimes, it seems as though we are at the Senior Center though. Food, depending on choice is generally very good for the price. Their specials and seafood are good choice. Not handicap accessible, Service is average,... More

Been going here for several years. They consistently have excellent fried oysters, pan seared scallops, great veal, very good German dishes. All at a good and reasonable value. Also, try them for lunch - you won't be disappointed.

Not the experience we expected. Most of the food was average although the crab soup was excellent. The service was poor. The waitress literally run by the table on a random basis. She was nice for the extremely short periods of time we saw her but that was not good service. We will not go back.

This restaurant on a tree-lined street is delightful find and very welcoming. It is obviously German in decor and the staff is appropriately dressed for the occasion. The food is not only German. The swordfish is excellent. The wine and beer is very well served. This restaurant is worth stopping to enjoy the cuisine and the atmosphere.

Food was ok, not as good as expected. But the service was where the problem was. I felt rushed even though we arrived an hour before closing for break between lunch and dinner. Waitress asked about and brought dessert before my husband was finished with his meal. Also overheard several of the waitstaff talking about customers and how much longer... More

Went to this great restaurant with another couple. Had a great bottle of Louis Jadot red wine. Then ordered French crabcakes, grilled scallops, fish n chips, and fried oysters...Wow. Everything was tasty...cooked to our directions....and served by Ruth who did not write down any of what we said, but remembered our order in every detail. Great service Ruth! Don't miss... More
