Stumbled upon Olives quite hungry on the way from DC to Gettysburg. Leslie was our beautiful waitress. Very attentive, polite recommendations, excellent service. We were worried about the quality because the place had only 2 tables occupied on a Sun night. Put your fears to rest because the food was delicious. We had the roast duck entree and the shrimp&crab... More

Arrived at Olives on a Monday evening when a number of restaurants are closed in Frederick. The hostess was very friendly and seated me at a table by the window to wait for my husband to arrive. She said that the waiter would be right over. He came and brought the menus, asked if I wanted anything to drink. I... More

It was my family's first trip to Fredrick Maryland and we were scheduled to visit Hood College briefly. After leaving the University starving and searching for food, we were pleasantly surprised that our choice of olives Restaurant turned out to be spot on. From the service to the food, everything was great. Everything was fresh and top quality, specifically their... More

Was in town for a quick visit and sampled a bruschetta on the sidewalk that was so good we entered and had a great lunch. I had the best chicken salta bocca I've ever had. Came with a nice fresh salad and a very good cibatta roll. My wife had Frutta del mar which came with a generous helping of... More

Limited menu, but excellent quality. Pasta a speciality. Very good service. We've dined at Olives twice while in Frederick.

I've visited several times with friends. I've always enjoyed myself here but nothing jumps out. I would love to rate it higher but it doesn't live up to its potential. don't hesitate to go but temper your expectations and you'll enjoy dinner there. The same for the bar and service. Drinks are OK but no more. Several times they have... More

On a cold day, the sign outside said creamy asparagus soup so my wife wanted to go in and have a cup. We tried the fried artichoke hearts with aioli (~$7), asparagus soup (~$6), pear salad ~($7) and the house special panini (~$8). The fried artichokes were a nice surprise as they had a light batter on them. Think tempura.... More

Olives is nothing fancy but the food (chicken diavolo) was good. Our server was above average. The wine list needs some help but that was really the only complaint. Making a reservation on the Olives website is easy, but it would be nice if they provided a confirmation.

In town on business, I coworker and I stopped here one evening. We sat at the bar which had the foul puke aroma of a dirty dive bar. If we weren't so hungry and it wasn't so cold outside, we would have left. We started with beers. My beer was very flat, and tasted as if the keg lines had... More

Veal with spinach, chicken parm were tasty. Mushroom soup of the day was very good. Would have prefered thinner al dente spaghetti with sauce as the side instead of unsauced thick as served. We didn't have a reservation for 4 and they found a spot quickly for us. Do ask the price of glass of wine being recommended since it... More
