The food was really good and the joint was jumpin'. The homemade chips and salsa were great. We will definitely go back.

Super, low-key, great food. Mariachi music some Saturdays, plus private rooms (tiny ones...how fun!)

We love Mariachi in Rockville and in Frederick but Mexican Cantina, all of the same family, has the broadest menu. Last night we had a small birthday for our grandaughter. The food was outstanding and the little Tres Leche cake with a candle thrilled her. Everyone in this restaurant is so friendly and helpful, and that is the way of... More

We stopped here after a full day's hiking in the chilly weather, after having found it on the TripAdvisor.com. This is a fairly expansive space with nice decor and very clean. There were very few patrons at the time of our visit. The salsa is very good, not very spicy at all. My wife had spinach, cheese, and seafood enchiladas... More

Needed a break from dinner at home, so decided to go midweek. As we entered, the sign pointed us to the bar side in order to be seated. As we entered no hostess nor other staff to show us to a table, so we stood there waiting. As the room was half empty, not sure where the host was but... More

We have gone to Mexicali Cantina frequently. Their food is consistenly good, and their chips and salsa are the greatest! Also their frozen margaritas and their sangria are both terrific. Service is always excellent.

I believe that this restaurant, as well as Mariachi's and Cacique is owned by the same family. All three are great Mexican restaurants. And guess what! they are not all the same menus. Try the Carne Asada! Love that stuff. My Wife and I visit here at least once a month.

What makes Mexacali Cantina different is that they have a very diverse menu. From typical Mexican type to Spanish flavors. They also have seafood dishes. I always get there shredded beef with any dish and it is as good as my wifes Pot Roast, Excellant. You can cut it with a fork.

This place has some of the best chips and salsa I have had. That alone makes it worth the trip. The service is very good and attentive. The restaurant is large and you feel like there is room between your table and other diners. The combination platters are great - although the fajitas we ordered were a bit overdone and... More
