I'm a Frederick native and I can tell you that Barley and Hops has changed since it first arrived in the area. Recently, my husband and I have been returning more frequently for the yummy crab dip and sandwiches. I'm not a a beer drinker but my husband enjoys them. I'm a real fan of their grilled vegetable panini -... More

Stayed at A nearby hotel and stopped in for supper here. Its A decent place with A number of different types of micro brews. Food was decent and beer was decent too, for what we paid I was expecting better.

The cajun skillet was flavorful and extremely well prepared. I would go back for that dish ANY time - you wouldn't have to ask me twice. Bright and witty hostesses greet you - good beer (try the samplers, my favorite was the seasonal selection).

We were looking for something different for an anniversary dinner and pick the restaurant. I have to say the service was excellent and our waiter was on it. Wanting to sample the beers, I ordered a second that was out of stock. The waiter worked on a recommendation and I agreed. Then he came back with a different beer. He... More

Having lived in Frederick for 8 years, I drove past Barley & Hops on a weekly basis and never entertained eating there. Thankfully a friend recommended it, and I discovered a new favorite place for my family to dine. They are fantastic microbrews, and even margarita's, and their burgers are fabulous! I like to try a different burger each time... More

Decided to stop by this place on our way out of town, SO glad we did! Excellent service (Thank You, Oakley!), incredible food (the cream of crab soup is the best I've had in years!) and the atmosphere was perfect!! Casual and comfortable, would be great with the kids or a luncheon for work. We will definitely be back!! ..oh,... More

For a microbrewery you would think that the beer would be excellent. We've been there a couple of times and the beer is just okay. The food was good, not excellent but decent. This isn't a place that we would go out of our way to go to, and with BJ's now open almost next to it, I wonder if... More

If your in the mood to just hang loose and have a drink than this is the place. I would not expect a great diverse menu but the all around experience is a good value and good time. Try a beer and relax. It's all good .
