I had my hopes high for this place being an antidote to a chain. And it was, just not as good as I hoped. All the food is cooked from scratch and it tastes it too. The chipped beef gravy and sausage gravy on biscuits were very good. Home fries were undercooked and seriously lacking. The pancakes were light and... More

I think the review by Keystonejenks nailed it. This place is terrible...like stepping back into 1950's when if you were of any color, you weren't welcomed. My Chinese wife and I went in and she was the only non-lily-white person in there. We were stared at glaringly by nearly everyone there. The menu is dreadful old fashioned diner food with... More

We stopped in here about 4:30 pm on a Saturday after driving around Gambrills park. We seemed to be joining the early dinner crowd at this time and it seemed fairly busy for so early evening. The waitress was prompt, very friendly, and a good server. Our food was good. I had the turkey club sandwich with fries (excellent if... More

After spending most of the day at Summer's Farm, we headed over to the Barbara Fritchie's (less than 10 minutes away) for a late lunch. All seven of us (including one in a high chair) were hungry and this was a good choice. Everything from the real roast turkey, fried shrimp baskets, and even BLT hit the spot. This place... More

We were meeting another family for a trip to an O's game and they wanted to go to iHop for breakfast. Me, I'm a mom-and-pop's kind of guy so I did some searching. I saw this place had good reviews so we gave it a try. In the words of Charles Barkley, "this place was turrible." We were seated and... More

Pancakes were ok, Belgian waffle was tasty, eggs and bacon were done well. Breakfast potatoes needed more frying to add some texture. My sausage was over cooked dry and tasted burnt; not good at all. Good meal tasty nothing great but not bad. Did not try any of the cakes but they looked great! Worth stopping by for the classic... More

I've been eating at this place for years... Since I was a kid. Now that I've moved away, I only get to visit a few times a year. This trip I went twice just to get ice cream. Worth the trip every time. I hope they never give up their retro flavor and vintage charm. Love it.

I was attracted to Barbara's by the full parking lot. Despite the full restaurant, the service was great. The food was awful. I can't even remember what I ordered - sounds like a kid coming home from school & can't remember lunch because it so bad. My wife was pleased with her hot dog & liima beans.

I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions. I seem to always get the same food each time. Their noodle soup is the best. Their sandwiches are very good as well as the meatloaf. Mashed potato's are great too! Staff is very friendly and service is great. Their deserts are really good especially the cream pies.

I'm not sure if this restaurant appealed to me when I entered but I was eager to have a slice of pie. The photos looked delicious. It is vintage dining but could use a little updating and cleaning and it wouldn't change the vintage charm of a diner. The meal was OK but the pie was very disappointing. It taste... More
