Description: Firestone's Culinary Tavern, opened in 1999, is located in downtown Frederick's picturesque Historic District. It is housed in a 1921 building that was initially the home of Shipley's Department Store. The restaurant combines outstanding cuisine with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. The Washington Post says, "the atmosphere is prime...the food is, too!".

Would not reccommend this restaurant if you're looking for a place to eat. May be a good place to drink and socialize, but the prices are exceptionally high for what you get. Would not try it again.

My daughter's favorite restaurant, she wanted to celebrate her college graduation. Not Able to get dinner reservations due to small restaurant so went for lunch. Had a great waiter and food was very good. Had a good family meal.

For dinner Sunday is a good choice and Saturday is too noisy for dinner. However, Saturday is a great bar scene with lively people all enjoying the mix and madness. Firestone offers an extensive list for beers and wines. My fave wine is the Cote du Rhone for $10 per glass. Now go back to the dinner menu and the... More

The food is ok but pricey. The noise level is bad, especially when there's a band. Often there is a young crowd. The bar is active and they often have a bouncer.

It can get noisy and crowded at the Bar on a Friday or Saturday night, but the atmosphere is good. I would say that if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the place for you because of that, but the food overall is good.

The food was great. I had the gnocchi and mussels. There is a really energetic atmosphere and large beer list. Fancy enough for anniversaries but casual enough for a quick date night. Love it!

Menu and food was extraordinary. Great service with upscale food. Sit upstairs if possible and overlook the great street scene.

Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon while wandering about in Frederick. Heard the jazz band while walking by and this pulled mu small group in. Got seated after a short wait. All three of us ordered a different burger and had different beers and then we compared our choices. Found the jalapeno burger to be the best of the three... More

This is one of the only restaurants in, or near Washington (DC) that truly wants to please its patrons. The cooking demonstrates an uncompromising chef who gets the maximum flavor from superior ingredients. The menu is short, but every selection offers something out-of-the-ordinary. Great wine and beer selection, as well.

Sat at the bar for dinner. Bartenders were great - they asked everyone's names and were super friendly. As an out of towner, tap beers were great. Atmosphere was good - there is a classier feel to sitting upstairs over looking the bar. Food was extremely good. Would recommend! Cheers.
