Being somewhat of a regular at Mays, as well as being in the Resturant Industry. I disagree with how you have explained the situation. I remember being there when your young child was running around and it did disturb my dinning experience. As well as the fact that your child fell off a chair when you let him run around.... More

I went here by myself as a recommendation of a local to try. I ordered all you can eat crab legs which was probably a mistake since I had no experience shelling crabs. The waitress was kind of enough to give me a helping hand since I was having a hard time. The crab was good and there was plenty... More

The food is decent. The prices are also decent. There is nothing exceptional about this establishment....with exception to the audacity of the owner; Mrs. May. This curmudgeon thought that coming to my table and telling me that my 2y/o MUST sit in his seat and stop yelling was acceptable. Under no circumstances is that sort of interaction acceptable, but this... More

We live in Florida now, and we usually go back go Frederick twice a year. In the past, our first stop has been may's. Their Maryland crab cakes was always delicious, service was good, etc. Well, that was certainly far from the case this past August 26. We arrived at approximately 6 PM, a total of 8 patrons. The place... More

Went for lunch. Got the crab soup which was served luke warm and was the most bland Md. Crab soup I've ever had. Totally unacceptable especially for $5 cup - even told the waitress who asked if we wanted more (no more cold, bland soup for me thanks). Then the main course: got a crab cake and slaw - the... I only got as far as the phone call before I was having second thoughts. I inquired about sizes and availability and was met with the words "No" and "No, we don't do that...No exceptions, PERIOD". I then asked to speak with management, hoping for a little professionalism but, I was dead wrong. I ended up speaking to the owner... More

My boyfriend is from Maryland and I am from the UK so naturally I wanted to experience eating at a real crab shack. Mays did not disappoint. They had a special of all you can eat blue crab and fries for around $28. Totally worth it!!! The crab came out a dozen at a time - really well seasoned. The... More

My family are die hard Maryland Crab cake eaters! May's in the past has always been the place to go. My parents have moved to Florida and come back to Frederick twice a year for a May's crab cake. Up unitl this past August- everytime was great-- this trip ( table of 8) the service was horrid and the crab... More

Haven't eaten at Mays for a long time, but my husband an I wanted a good crab cake dinner. We were not disappointed by the crab cakes. They were excellent, however, there were so many flies in the restaurant (we were inside, not outside) the dining experience was really unpleasant. In the future, we will think Dutch's Daughter because flies... More

What a great place to come and enjoy some Blue Crabs. They have different sizes to choose from and a loved the fact that they had Dead Rise Flying Dog Brew on tap. We can not get that in NH. The place has a great vibe to it and the staff is wonderful. If you are around the area you... More
