A quiet night, but the food was excellent, service quirky but fast, and the bill was not eye watering. Of course the red wine was served as cold as can be, Spanish style.
This restaurant looks lovely from the outside, is clean and smart inside, and is in a great location. The food and service however is a let down. We enjoyed our complimentary fish pate (after a long wait), and the gazpacho was OK but nothing special. We ordered white wine and (eventually) red turned up which we had to send back... More
Thank you very much for choosing us and visit us, also thank you for bothering to waste their time to write a review about us, we firmly believe that it was a badly understood language, take note of your suggestion with the service and the quality of the product to improve, hope that an upcoming visit we are at the... Unfortunately this time, Trip Advisor let us down; we went here about ten days ago on a short trip to Zafra and we went up to the roof terrace which was dirty and not laid out for clients; the tapas were frozen little empanadas and not impressive when deep fried - we can buy them in any supermarket. The meal... More

El Dropo is not easy to find but it is worth the search. Located at the corner between the Plaza Grande and the Plaza Chica, the small tapas bar doesn't look like much, but that is just the ground floor. The restaurant is one flight up and overlooks the plaza. The decor is a pleasant and surprisingly modern twist among... More
What a wonderful surpise is this restaurant! We had initially only planned one night in Zafra but when circumstances had their way we found we had a total of 5 nights in this pretty small place. El Dropo saved the day, the food is modern, clean, inventive, well priced, service excellent. Both dishes we had;The tuna 1/2 grilled with vegetables and... More
Lovely restaurant in a great location. This is a stylish and beautifully retored restaurant right in the centre of town. The food was excellent and the waiter could not have been more helpful and attentive. We would definitely go when we are in Zafra again.
+ Very beautiful restaurant, very nice staff, nice food, good wine.....perfect ! ! ! - only a little too fast between the first and secon course... and a little too much oil on the jamon iberico. that's all ! Next week i'm here for another week and then i'm going to try all the other stuff from the menu... BUT...... More
I agree with the previous excellent reviews. The food was good, reasonably priced and the surroundings appealing. The waiter couldn't do enough for us and although he showed us to the terrace at the end of our meal, we took a bottle of wine outside to the one of their tables on the square for to soak up the Saturday... We agree with all the praiseworthy comments in 'tripadvisor reviews' about El Dropo Restaurant in Plaza Grande, Zafra. Loved the Food (great menu), Decor (beautifully done) and general ambience of this small restaurant. We ate in the first floor restaurant - but don't miss the top floor terrace. Quite magical with amazing views over the dramatic old town. The restaurant... More
I am Scottish, my wife is Spanish and we live in Houston, Texas. I own a technology company in the oil & gas industry so our tastes are pretty diverse due to a lot of traveling/business dinners etc. We eat in a lot of nice places, but I am always most impressed by restaurants who keep things simple - good...
