Excellent rustic, flavoursome food. great staff.

We only found this restaurant by accident and were so glad we did. Inside one of the lovely old townhouses of Begur, the first floor formal dining room is something to behold, very grand, but we sat outside on the terrace. With its interconnecting, soft yellow 19th-century dining rooms, hand-painted landscape murals and high, vaulted ceilings, you can almost imagine someone giving a recital. There’s also a pretty garden terrace in the summer. But the young, friendly staff give it a reassuringly contemporary feel. Food is traditional Catalan and Mediterranean with specialities of grilled meats like duck or rabbit, cooked on... More

Tried to eat here with a family group as we had trouble getting a reservation any where else in begur. From the start things were bad. The glasses were filthy and had to be sent back. Starters were expensive and tasted like they came from a can. Mains were mainly inedible as they were so overdone. One didn't even arrive.... More

We visited the Can Torrades in early August, and ending up eating in the beautiful upstairs dining room rather than the outside terraces (which looked lovely). The interior is a beautiful 19th century decorated parlour, with a balcony overlooking the busy street below, complete with portraits of (I assume) the original owners. It's just a lovely place to eat. Good... More

Had real trouble finding a restaurant booking due to mass influx of visitors to Begur. Welcome was very good and our expectations managed. Food was as expected ie simply grilled but very tasty, just what we wanted that evening. Service was excellent and could not have been better.

We were able to satisfy the carnivores and vegetarians. Lovely atmosphere on the terrace on a warm August night, as we left at 10:30 there were still families turing up to eat. Particularly good were the local squid and fish of the day. Litle bit pricey compared to some but I still think the value for money was good.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. Main courses of Dourada for my wife and Porc for myself. Couldn't fault either. Starters of bacon & cheese Salad and Serrano Ham on Toast. Excellant. House wine was very palatable. Surroundings are really Beautiful inside or outside. All in all a verry pleasant experiance at a very reasonable price.
