The food is freshly prepared, healthful and delicious. You order and pay at the counter, then seat yourself - if you haven't been here before, try for a table in the attractive and colorful back room. There can be a wait at busy lunchtimes, but it's usually not too long, and definitely worth it.

This is an order-yourself-at-the-counter place, so it's casual. But the food is good. Yummy soups and interesting salads, not to mention prepared meals.

Provence was started by Robert (Ro-bear), a semi-retired experienced French chef. It has gotten busier and bigger during the 5+ years I have been going there. It is wonderful (but increasingly crowded) for lunch. (I stopped by today at 1 PM, could not get a table, so departed. You have a choice of a variety of salads, soups or souffles.... More

This is a truly special place. Good home cooking; special treats to buy; friendly staff and great value for the money. Self service for everything to keep the price low, you help your self to everything but the delicious food. A great place to meet people for lunch - in the winter with a big bowl of delicious home cooked... More

The cheese shop will give you samples of almost anything they serve, and locals maintain index cards of their favorites. I usually avoid the sandwiches, unless they are made fresh, but love the yellow beets, when they have it in the deli case. Over the holidays, we ordered hors d'oeuvres to go for 6, and esp. enjoyed the thinly sliced... More

Many aspects of this cafe will remind you of time in France. How to order? What is that salad? What IS the soup du jour? Where DO I collect food, pay? Am I supposed to clear the table? Staff is efficient and distant. All simple enough, once you sort it out. And it is worth it. We have been twice... More

Let me preface this with the fact that I have not eaten here personally. And I never will after my Mom's recent experience which is too bad because they have quiche that's out of this world (we've had takeout). My mother has limited mobility due to complications from stage 4 ovarian cancer and currently needs a crutch to get around.... More

This incident must have happened with a member of the staff as the owner was unavailable in July. He would have handled the situation differently had he been present and is sorry Carolyn j.'s mother had an unhappy experience. More

I've lived in France and have cooked French food for nearly twenty years. I'm amazed at how fresh and perfectly spiced the food is. I'm inspired to cook up some French classics using fresh herbs and veggies.

I've visited here several times and enjoy the light fare that is served. I like the calm atmosphere and the service is delightful.
