Great food

We were in town and decided to stop off and eat at the colonial inn. Food was excellent. Love eating outdoors. No reservations taken for outside so be warned.

Had the pleasure of dining on the porch at the Colonial Inn after taking the Liberty Ride. Unbelievably delicious food. Great setting. Service was slow but the food and alfresco dining was so awesome we didn't care!

What a place! You can't get more "New England authentic" than this. We went for breakfast and then over to Wilson Farm. Classic and a great ambiance. Great Eggs Benedict, my husband really liked the Spanish Omelette, and my son LOVED the banana pancakes. And the home fries were some of the best I have had. The staff were warm... More

Delicious meals abound! Not only is the location superb, full of history, and close to American Revolution sites, the food is simply delicious. I had the Chicken Pot Pie. It was FANTASTIC! Reservations are recommended, but we were able to be immediately seated on a weekend evening without a reservation. There were four of us. Large parties would have a... More

Check the menu before you go, as for someone like me, the only meal on there I would order was the burgers. Probably a great place for people that want something different, I have a limited range of foods that I like. I choose the place because I liked the look of it, and it was very pretty. You can... Dinner at the Merchants Row was a big disappointment, after several visits in recent years. The crab stuffed cod had only a minuscule bit of crab. The current chef, #6 in two years we learned, embraces the 'piled in a heap' practice. Fish piled on mashed potato on top of braised spinach. I had a NY Strip steak dropped on... More

This inn offers average rooms in a lovely setting. You must be able to navigate lots of stairs. Good restaurants and outstanding reception from from desk staff. Our stay in a Prescott wing small suite was probably more comfortable than some room choices.

We stopped here for lunch on a weekday. Found the prices reasonable, but not cheap. The menu had a wide variety and there were a couple of beers to choose from. I ordered a salad that came without dressing. I waited for our server to appear again and she did not, so I asked another employee to track her down.... More

The historic Colonial Inn is a 3-star hotel with 50+ rooms, and restaurant. The hotel was a little pricey for us, but we loved its location in the center of everything, and the atmosphere in the outdoor "porch" restaurant on the 4th of July. Actually four houses put together, one of the Inn’s original buildings was used as a storehouse... More
