appropriate tavern to meet friends

We met a gaggle of friends mid day Saturday for a late lunch. We sat in the back tavern. The atmosphere was really good for visiting, we could talk and hear each other. It was relaxed and comfortable, we were not in the main dining room. The wait staff was attentive, she'd discreetly check on us... read more

We popped in for a quick lunch - restuarant to the front a bit formal, but there is a nice small cozy bar type area at the back. The lady serving was very friendly and very patient with the kids as they looked through the menu. Having a cup of soup and half a baguette was more than enough on... More

Everything was perfect, our waitress made such an effort that we feel special and enjoy our celebration. The scones and clotted cream were the best I've had!

I ventured here for breakfast after an early morning walk at Lexington Green and Minute Man Historical Park. The place was empty as this was Good Friday. The atmosphere was colonial with beamed ceilings and round tables. I had scrambled eggs, home fries, rye toast, and fruit and was satisfied with my meal. The Inn is located on Monument square... Hoped to have a special holiday lunch with a friend as we have had in the past. Instead the service and food were disappointing. My reservation for one of the small dining rooms was not honored but instead we were seated in the tavern; although we were seated by a window, the tables are uncomfortably close together. Our waiter was... More

The day before Christmas, my history buff sister in law from Colorado suggested having lunch at The Colonial Inn in Concord, Mass. We had visited some years in the past with great memories, and as a local official, my government group had reserved a room there until about eight years ago for Christmas dinner. So we expected something special. It... More

Actually this was a late breakfast (which ends at 11am) . This 300 year old in offers excellent dining experiences, at a price. Our breakfast however was excellent ,and priced very reasonable although the crabcake eggs benedict was pricy at $17, but well worht it according to those that ordered it. My breakfast with cofee was under $10, and very... More

Concord has so many restaurants that are of much higher quality. If you want to go to experience the colonial part of the inn and feel like you are in colonial times you may get some of that. The food is pretty poor all around and pricey and service is very spotty. The pub is quaint and very fun on... More

I went there with my daughter and niece on Nov. 29, 2014. We ordered the fish and chips and the crap cakes for lunch. The fish and chips at $19 were greasy and poor quality fish. The french fries were formerly frozen The crab cakes at a $12 appetizer were more cake than crap., I don't even think I could... More
