Nice little place in old train depot

We've eaten here many times. It is upstairs in an old train depot near downtown Concord. There are two main dining areas and we've always eaten at the one that overlooks the train tracks. The service is usually well-paced but is sometimes a little slow. It is always courteous and professional... read more

We just discovered 80 Thoreau (you really have to go looking for it), and we will certainly return. On the second floor of the Concord train depot, the large windows on the dining room look out over the train tracks and parking lot. The food, though, more than makes up for the lack of view. The mushroom soup was the... More

Only our second visit over the years it has existed. Haven't gone mostly because it is not easy to get a reservation on a moment's notice. So we celebrated an anniversary at 80 Thoreau. Tuna was great at medium rare. Most dishes had a chef's special approach, but that was not overdone. Did not go for their house Manhattan, an... More

We love this cozy local restaurant, every bit as good as anything in the South End. The menu is eclectic though a bit limited. Quality over quantity. The servers and staff are extremely friendly and attentive. We both had a marvelous mushroom soup. Extremely flavorful. The scallops were fresh and tender. The seared tuna divine. There was one bottle of... More

We had been hearing a lot about this restaurant and finally went this week. The food and service were both excellent and the experience was as nice as many of the restaurants we have been to in Boston. Unlike Boston, there was no issue with traffic and parking :). We will definitely be back.

We have eaten several times here but the last time was definitely the best. Celebrating my husband's promotion I pre-ordered champagne. As we were seated there was Vince with the champagne bottle so that we could surprise my husband! Perfect timing and a wonderful start to the meal. Service is always excellent, and the food is outstanding. Every dish is... More

I have eaten here on several occasions and this is the first time that I can honestly say they have missed a step. Two of the appetizers were simply undersized - the char pate and the fois gras, in particular, the small portion of fois gras was served with buckwheat Madelines which were leaden. The waitress, obviously schooled asked each... More

Concord doesn't have too many good restaurants, this is one of the best. Very attractive with excellent food and great service.

...great wine list! The service was excellent - not pushy, very knowledgable and perfect timing. The food was perfectly cooked...the mushroom soup starter was divine and can;t wait to come back to this restaurant.

In a town with not many fine dining options, 80 Thoreau provides a top-notch and delicious dining experience. Ian and his staff, most particularly the wonderful chef, make this a must-do restaurant in the western suburbs of Boston. I am particularly fond of the kitchen bar seats that allow you to follow the preparation and see how such great food... More
