This was a birthday celebration meal and turned out to be everything we hoped for. The food was fantastic, the drinks tasty and the service second to none. They brought us complementary champagne to our surprise and seemed to think of all our needs before we could (they even folded my napkin when I got up to use the restroom,... More

Over the past few decades there have been a series of interesting restaurants at this physical location. This is the best one! Marvelous food -- the gnocchi with lobster appetizer was scrumptious as was the beet salad; chicken was moist and tender and bountiful, and while it did not beat Hammersley's version, it was a great value; tagliatelle was fine,... Okay, $133 for 3 courses with tea for 2 is not exorbitant but it's more than I usually pay. However, it was worth it! It was easy to make a reservation by phone on a Saturday evening and they were very pleasant even though we were 30 minutes late (we are 30 minutes late for everything!). The entrance is unassuming... More

I've been to 80 Thoreau about a dozen times since they opened and have never been disappointed. The service is very professional and attentive. Food is imaginative, we'l prepared and presented. Even their "bar burger" is a culinary treat. The room is contemporary yet warm and inviting.

I've been there twice and won't go back a third time. Extremely noisy place, the restaurant is too cramped and not the most appealing in terms of decor. Food is ok, but very hit and miss. If you go earlier in the evening you are more likely to get decent food that is still hot, get a table and wait... More

My husband and I usually take advantage of "Restaurant Week" in our area but have noticed that restaurants often sacrifice quality, understandably because they're providing fare at much lower profit. We were expecting that at 80 Thoreau. However, if they did sacrifice quality, their usual fare must be celestial. Our dinner was marvelous from start to finish. Such delicate and... More

The broiled bluefish hit the mark, as did the simple chix. Don't is the heirloom tomato salad to start. Unfortunately not a good chocoholic dessert! Great wine list!

80 Thoreau gets tons of praise and attention. Each time I've been there, I've not been exactly sure what all the fuss is about. I've been twice for dinner and three times for drinks and each time I go, I walk away feeling like my experience does not quite meet the hype. We were seated within two minutes of our... More

We have eaten at 80 Thoreau a number of times. Each visit has been wonderful. The food is great, the prices reasonable for the quality, the servers are excellent, the space is bright, airy & pleasant. What's to not like? 80 Thoreau is the best to be found in Concord, and in all of the surrounding towns as well!

I use 80 Thoreau of a great example of designing and decorating a restaurant space well. It is warm, inviting and comfortable. Elegant, but not stuffy. The bar and unique dining areas are really well laid out. The food is fabulous as well!!! I have eaten here at least 5 times and have not been disappointed. Fresh locally sourced vegetables.... More
