Great all round

Excellent , tasty, 'smart' food. Comprehensive menu contains local delicacies with a modern twist alongside good brasserie style dishes. The service was outstanding - attentive but reasonably light touch.

Delicious dinner and fabulous service. The a la carte menu is fairly 'haute cuisine' and portion sizes vary enormously according to the dish. The black squid rice starter is highly recommended. Quails' legs are literally the entire dish so a small portion but exquisite. Companion had excellent goat's cheese salad - parcels of cheese in filo on bed of leaves... More

We had the 2 course meal! As a starter we chose the tunafish canneloni! which was very tastefull. As a main, we had the squid! mmmm! The owner was very helpfull, had great selection of digestives... got the chance to taste some local products! really nice evening + the souvenir made us really happy! :-)

Arrived in Solsona on a wet September Sunday after being washed down Montserrat. We chose Restaurant Fermin based on Trip Advisor and were surprised to be the only two people in the restaurant when we arrived at just after 8.30pm. However, the food echoed other reviews, which is to say it was great. We shared four items: asparagus and salmon,... More

Ate here twice at the recommendation of our hotel ( also excellent La Freixera). On both occasions we really enjoyed our meal. The owner is delightful and seems to genuinely want one to enjoy the evening. Food is quite sophisticated for a small town. Excellent flavours. Decor is not great but it doesn't really matter! Good value too.

The owner kindly opened up the restaurant at 7.30 on a sunday night for us. We were led through to the rear room with views over fields. He explained all the meal options and we enjoyed an excellent Spanish meal.

The matadre recommended this place and she was right. The owner and staff were so friendly. They had a mix of everything; seafood, duck, pasta, etc. Desserts and coffee were out of this world. Prob not kid friendly btw.

The owner was so helpful sat down at our table and helped us order, it is a family owned business and him and his wife both cook, he does and excellent job of serving with pride, the price of a fixed meal three courses including wine and water is about 20 euros. We ate there twice and really enjoyed it.

We had a very delicious lunch which was served by a very nice gentleman who we think was the owner. neither of us speaks much Spanish and he spoke very little English but it didn't matter. we were staying nearby at the Parador in Cardona (very wonderful) and the staff recommended Fermin. The hill town of Solsona is beautiful to... More

We were there in November so it was practically empty. The owner was our waiter for the evening. He was remarkably helpful -- even though we don't speak Spanish (or Catalonian!). Details of what we ate are: Agua: €1.50 Pa (2): €6.00 Vilarnau Cava Brut Nature: €16.00 Celler Cérvoles Negre de Vinyes de Muntanya Costers del Segre 2006: €25.00 The... More
