Great Food!

I dined there both nights that I stayed at Mesa Verde Far View Lodge. I enjoyed both evenings tremendously. My friend and I shared the queso which was fabulous! I ordered the Cowboy strip steak and it was delish! The second night I wanted lighter fare and enjoyed the chicken tortilla soup and... read more

This is a restaurant that should stop calling itself "Five-Star," which folks at the Lodge did repeatedly, and focus more on delivering an excellent dining experience. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the Metate. First dinner - It's great that they focus on local ingredients. The menu was promising. We appreciated calorie counts for their offerings being listed on... More

We enjoyed the beautiful view from this Mesa top restaurant as we dined on regional entrees very appropriate to the cultural influences in this area. The poblano relleno served on black beans and polenta was amazing. We also loved the tortilla coated chicken and the filet was done to perfection. Two desserts from their ever-changing menu completed our meal and... More

We tried to eat here for dinner, was there about 5 pm but they said we need a reservation, even thou there were empty tables everywhere at this early hour. So if you eat at this Five Star resturant plan ahead. We did eat here for breakfast, it was open seating, was a buffet, had several choices to choose from.... More

It appears that preference is given to folks staying at the lodge, which was to our advantage. We were offered a reservation at check-in and given a window view table. The view of the mesa and the reflection of the sunset on the clouds was spectacular. The food and wine selections and quality were very good, but the service was... More

I had the corn crusted trout and it was dry and tasteless; my spouses chicken and pasta dish was also blah. The others had elk shepherd's pie, tortilla crusted chicken and steak and they all loved their meals so perhaps our dinners were the outliers. The room has spectacular views, service was attentive, and the Margaritas, while pricey at $10,... More

We ate in the lounge of the Metate Room on both nights of our stay at Mesa Verde. The food was tasty, the prices reasonable, the views outstanding, and the ambiance surprisingly upscale. The service was impeccable. Michael, our bartender on the first night, was so attentive and kind.

We stayed at this lodge for one night. The accommodations were not so great, but our dinner at the Metate Room was great. We had a black bean hummus flatbread appetizer that was fabulous. My husband had wonderful elk shepherd's pie and I had a chili releno that was very good. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed two wonderful dinners at this restaurant located in the heart of Mesa Verde National Park. Reservations are suggested, especially for tables near the windows. The view is spectacular! The wait staff was pleasant and professional. Our entrees were delicious and I don't think you could miss no matter what you ordered.

We are dinner here and really enjoyed the food. A selection of breads with a delicious black bean paste arrived with our drinks - a good merlot and a good ale, 'modus hoperandi'! We shared a starter of queso miso with tortilla chips. Yummy! The elk shepherd's pie was tasty but not what someone from the UK would expect. I... More
