We wanted to try the traditional Asturian fabada - which is a stew with fava beans - here they did the meat (pork belly, chorizo and morcilla) and the one with clams. Both were excellent and huge portions. The starters were huge too - we reckoned we could have shared one starter and one main and had plenty to eat... More

El Faro was recommended by our hotel. We had a steak and a Risotto, the steak was massive, cooked just right and tender. The Risotto had a nice variety of mushrooms and plenty of flavour. The atmosphere and staff were laid back and welcoming, the restaurant itself was quite elegant. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and would... More

We too were at El Faro on the recommendation of Casona de la Paca, and were very pleased with the result. Not much was open in post-Easter Cudillero. Tucked away behind the fish market off the main plaza, few people were in the restaurant, but the freshness of the food and the service did not reflect a slow time. We... More

The restaurant was empty when we got there and almost empty when we left! We should have known better. Certainly not the worst restaurant I have eaten at but the food was very average and my wife says tasteless. It was our first night in Cudillero and we just needed food so from that respect it was fine, but only... More

We went there yesterday and had a wonderful dinner. Small scallops as starter and a fantastic 'San Martin (St Pierre in French... :-)) a la plancha'. They recommended an excellent and affordable white wine etc. A great place to recommend for a relaxed and tasty Spanish dinner.

Considering that this is a quite upmarket place, this is surprisingly good value. The quality of the food and also the choice of options for each course was well above average. Do not miss the flan con chocolate blanco if it is offered!

We ate at this restaurant twice during our three night stay in Cudilero. I can highly recommend the scallops and the lobster with rice. The staff were very nice. We didn't like the wine on the first night, however that was due to our poor Spanish and had a semi-sweet wine rather than dry wine. After checking what Spanish wines... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the receptionist at hotel Casona de Paca as the one of the best place for mariscada- grilled platter of sea food. Located in a little street just off the main square of Cudillero, this charming fishing port is worth vising and spending an hour or so strolling around and perhaps stopping in one... More

The weather is not good this spring and the restaurants facing the port were all closed. In any case, their terraces were not appealing. We were very glad we walked a little further and found El Faro. In a side street off the main drag going up though the town, this place looked inviting, on a quiet midweek evening. In... More

El Faro is tucked away one street back from the main thoroughfare. The fish dishes are sublime - and I can highly recommend the hake cooked in cider or the cod with parmesan! No English menus, so if you are not a Spanish speaker - take your phrase book. The service was excellent and the people friendly - and it... More
