One of the best meals I've ever had!

We came here due to the Trip Advisor reviews and it was awesome! One of the best meals we had in Spain. Jairo (Chef) served us and really has a passion for food. He asked what we liked and what we didn't....we felt completely special in his hands. After lunch we sat outside and enjoyed coffee... read more

We spent a few nights in Cudillero, out of season and most places were closed at lunch time during the week. For us any holiday has to include a special meal in a restaurant and Cabo Vidio lived up to all the good reviews we read, it's worth the short drive up the hill. If you are travelling in Spain... I prefer writing in English, so that foreign visitors can get an idea and make a general picture of this restaurant and its cuisine. First of all, the restaurant is located in the Cudillero region, in Principality of Asturias, Spain. It's on the route Camino de Santiago, which is so often frequented by tourists and travellers. This is the second... More

We went to this place based on Trip Advisor reviews, and we couldn't be happier. First of all we had a beer on the terrace before lunch. They served us a great paté of spider crab, which was superb. We ordered the tomato salad with anchovy loins, and it was the most delicious salad I think I've ever had. The... More

We found this restaurant by clicking "near here" on TA. When we arrived it was empty and we wondered if it might have closed for the season. But Jairo welcomed us with his near-perfect English, opened the kitchen early and proceeded to treat us to one of the best meals we've had during the 12 months we've been in Spain.... More

Went there tonight based on TA reviews. Service was excellent - they even opened 30 minutes early unbeknownst to us to help with our jet lag. Had the octopus and the croquettes for entree - good, But then had the 24 hour slow cooked lamb for two - melt in the mouth. Don't expect veggies on the side - it... More

We planned one dinner here and after the gazpacho amusee, we decided to cancel our next night's reservation to return to this fabulous restaurant off the Cantabria autoroute. The ambiance is perfect: pleasing to the eyes and the ears. The dishes come out without any fussiness and yet as soon as they're placed in front of you, you sense the... More

We stopped off here on our last day in Asturias and it turned out to be a great choice! Beautiful and welcoming dinning room with some lovely little touches to make it stand out. We chose the fish pate for starter which was subtle and very fresh tasting. We then shared the 24hour lamb which was an absolute 10 out... More

Simple but fresh, good quality ingredients in the hands of a master in the kitchen can turn any ordinary dish into an unforgettable one! None of those over-the-top, gastronomic experiments that look more decorative than anything -- here in Cabo Vidio, there was no need for any of those. TA restaurant reviews, in my experience, are a hit-or-miss proposition. But... More

Absolutely loved it! Fantastic food, great family atmosphere. The "merluza a la sidra" (name needs changing, the sidra surname is just an extremely delicate hint) is one of the best recipes that I have tasted in my life. Chef Jairo is a hidden gem! We will get back for sure.
