Hi Steve. Lovely to see you again last week. Thanks you, as always fantastic and welcoming with great service, you are a "must" . Mmm delicious tapas sharing plate. Will email the orange cake recipe as promised. Best wishes and good luck from double expresso with a jug of hot water on the side and cafe con leche. See you... More

This cafe is a 'must visit' venue if you are in Almunecar. It is a friendly, family run cafe bar in a very pretty position by the beach. I have visited many times and have never left disappointed, whether I have been there for a coffee, brunch/lunch (take it from me, the panini's are really tasty!) or stopped by for... More

We fancied a quick snack so stopped off for a coffee and bacon baguette and found very welcoming and friendly service in a very picturesque spot. Thank you.

I was hesitant to write a review, I notice that any review short of 4 or 5 stars gets a personal written tongue lashing from the owners...yet they don't bother to thank the good reviews, which I normally give... I stopped by this 'cafe' twice while in Almunecar specifically because of the good reviews, the second time was just to... More

Firstly we respond to negative malicious reviews because we really care about our business that has taken 7 years to build and maintain, something I am sure is incomprehensible to you, TP does encourage the odd nasty "review". A tip if you are going to review, tell travellers what you had that was sooo bad ( on TWO occasions), what... More

Visited Cafe Ayer again during our recent Visit and as usual were not dissappointed.By no means is this an English Bar,but truly INTERNATIONAL.Steve and Tracy were as usual friendly and welcoming, and Tracy's cakes second to none!!!!!Salads DO NOTconsist of just a plate of lettuce with a few bits added, but are a work of art!!!!THANK YOU BOTH.

Tracy and Steve run the Café which is opposite the beach in the middle of Almunecar. They serve lovely breakfasts and snacks and we had coffee and lemon cake a couple of times. Its a bit lazy I know but we liked it there so tended to go there rather than anywhere else! They have lived in Almunecar for a... More

Visited Ayer again and enjoyed the chicken salad. Richer and tastier than this did we not get salads in the area. Family enterpreneur so you can see and taste that their hearts are in Ayer. Every time we are in Almunecar we visit this place 2 or 3 times. Never a dissapointment.

This cafe is a true gem of a find. We decided to pop into this one for breakfast as we saw the owner and his son sharing a joke and a laugh and thought seems like a nice family place! We were right. Steve & Tracey and their two kids work here and it feels homely and friendly. Tracey makes... More

Good honest food and drink. Steve and Tracy are very friendly and very helpful. Café Ayer became my regular café due to good sandwiches drinks and the free Wi-Fi. I would not say that it is just an English café just because the owners are English. The menu is varied and the place seems fairly steady compared to others in... More

Once again we were in Almuñecar for a 10 day visit of family and friends. We just had to pop in and say 'hello' to the folks in Café Ayer. Such nice memories......we were NOT disappointed.
