We were recommended to this back street restaurant in Almunecar by a Nerja restaurateur who told us that if we wanted to see Flamenco dancing we needed to go to a venue where the performers had a genuine gipsy background. Deceptively small from the street this restaurant has two separate dining and performance areas. We were assigned a table in... More

Located in the back streets of the old town of Almunecar is this small intimate restaurant. We went on a flamenco show night,be sure to reserve, and enjoyed live flamenco right next to our table. The service and quality and presentation of the food was excellent, only let down by poor prsentation of the dessert. We all partook of the degustacion menu which was excellent... I LOVEthe courtyard - it's a secret spot in this part of the old town I don't like the expensive menu on flamenco nights!

Had an excellent menu del dia in the courtyard at the back of the restaurant. All 5 of us had different meals from the choices available and everyone was impressed. And for only €10 euros. Highly recommended.

Local establishment with good food. We went to this restaurant after we could not get into another one next door with really high ratings on T/A. Was pleasantly surprised. There was a man playing Spanish guitar in the patio which initially attracted our attention. After deciding to stay, we ordered food and it was actually very good. Goat cheese and... More

The quality of the food was pretty bad. I ordered a grilled entrecôte that came to the table cold (the salad that came along seemed pretty tired too). The waiters were extremely rude (there was no language barrier as I speak fluent Spanish)

Our first trip to La Ventura and will definitely be back. The small cozy atmosphere with the authentic flamenco dancing was a sheer pleasure to behold. The staff could't do enough for us and the food was very good. The wine perhaps a bit on the dear side but 12 euros for a bottle of decent cava wasn't that bad.

We love La Ventura. It has a range of well prepared Iberian and local dishes. In addition to inside seating there is an inner courtyard open to the night sky which is lovely in warmer weather. In the winter heaters provide plenty of comfort. On Thursdays they have Flamenco entertainment. All in all a comfortable and satisfying experience any time... More

The restaurant is too expensive for what you get. The flamingo are very good and tapas at the bar as well. The waiter at the table is very rude.

We have been in Almunecar for a few months, but had not tried La Ventura before. So when we had a relative visiting, we took the opportunity to see the flamenco show and order the special menu for the show. I'm glad we tried it, but I wouldn't do it again. Some of the food was quite good, but most... More
