I'd seen this place on the Food Network and couldn't wait to try it. So our tour bus pulled up to the place and off we went. The first thing I noticed is that most people stop at rhe first few lines, and don't realize there are numerous lines to place your order. I found that the service was more... More

This is a classic place in Atlanta. If you have not experienced the Varsity, you have not seen Atlanta. Burgers, dogs, fries, coke, frosted orange, and peach pies. Nothing like it. Don't let the grease scare you. Don't let the crazy other customers scare you. This is best experienced after a Tech game, Braves game, Falcons game, but any day... More

There are many things to love about The Varsity - the fact that they will not let themselves be classified has a historic landmark is chief among them. Best Meal = fries, chili burger, and an F.O.

Went with a large school group this past weekend. One of those "you just have to try" places. Do not be scared off by seeing lots of buses parked here, they can easily handle the large crowds. About 15-20 lines for people taking orders at the counter, TONS of seating on multi levels. Yes, the order takers yell out "what'll... More

In a city with all too few distinguishing features, the Varsity is a place all tourists must eat; the natives enjoy it! Two Georgia Tech dropouts opened this restaurant decades ago and have managed to serve decent, if somewhat greasy food. I take all guests for a meal there: it has the Southern hospitality one expects and decent enough hot... More

I do not understand why this restaurant is considered such an icon in Atlanta. I visited with a group of friends on a Saturday night. It was hard to find a place to park and the interior dining rooms were packed with people. It took nearly an hour to get to the front of the line to order. There are... More

Had a brief stop here for a snack as part of a food tour....it's not fine dining, but it's a fun place to visit! The history behind this Atlanta landmark is very interesting.

I have to eat at the Varsity every so often just because the food is great. The chilidogs and onion rings are hard to beat and it is a historic Atlanta institution
